Roundhouse Billy like you've not seen before

Post by steveh99 » Sat May 20, 2017 5:24 pm

This is a modified, repainted and weathered Roundhouse Billy on shed on the Hambleden Valley Railway. Modifications include a slomo and chuff pipe along with at least 10 other details added, how many can you spot?

Very nice job that.
I do like loco that looks like it has worked hard. I did similar to my Billy Ol' Bill although not to such an extent.
If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer!

Great work Steve, I cannot wait to get my slomo from SSP. I hope I can make it fit into my Silver Lady, the simulated drain cock servo linkage will need modifying but other than that it should work.

Superb weathering job Steve, a real working engine. I like the lagging on the steam pipe and the ash under the smokebox door. All very typical features.

Good to see a black loco that isn't gloss jet black.........

It now looks like a hard worked industrial loco. Also nice to see you've added the external throttle valve and steampipe, so characteristic of O&K industrial locos.

I think I found eleven external changes, if you include things like changing couplers. ;)

Regards,
Graeme
