Hi,
another loco has found her way into the workshop:
a 3.5" Teutonic class loco.
The paint seems to have been applied using a tar brush, so it needs to go.
My books state "blackberry black" as the right colour.
Does anyone have a description/example/RAL code for that?
help please: Blackberry black
Re: help please: Blackberry black
Having painted many a model and full-size loco, my understanding is there is no such colour.
LNWR locos were always described as being Blackberry Black but consensus amongst those that know was they were painted normal black and it was the lacquer applied over the top once it had been "cooked" a few times that gave the Blackberry tinge in certain light.

Good luck!

Hi Tony and Scrat
P375 LNWR Blackberry Black from the Phoenix range
I bought this in the mistaken belief that is was the dark component of the LNWR (and Ffestiniog) Blackberries and cream livery. But it is the loco livery apparently.
The coach livery is LNWR coach plum.
