Hey Folks,
Are there any railways, friendly enthusiasts or a 16mm Association area group in South Wales, specifically around Bridgend? Moving there in a few weeks and looking to build a railway in our garden but don't know where to begin!

Re: South Wales
Hi Chris,
yes, is the answer to your question, although some travelling will be required.
Nearest group to you will probably be in Cardiff..... CMES Cardiff Model Engineering Society... who have wonderful site with ride-on railways and SM32 circuit. Tony Bird (of this Forum) is the one to contact for details. Some video on you-tube too.
Further afield from Bridgend we have formed the 16mm Association, South West Wales Local Area Group who meet at various garden railways in our area. It is surprising how many members have garden railways locally. If you are looking to join a 'friendly' group both should satisfy.
PM me for info.

The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?
Re: South Wales
The Glamorgan & Gwent Group, probably the nearest to you, meet in Cardiff usually every Wednesday evening. As Peter says, we meet at our track in the grounds of CMES (Heath Park) in the Summer (so tomorrow's probably our last outdoor meeting of the year) and we meet indoors through the rest of the year. Come along and say hi!
The South West Group meets usually monthly, these are longer meetings at members' railways and are always inspiring and enjoyable. Worth the journey if you can!
