Help - U.K SAR info wanted
Hello all
It's has been a long time since I posted but glad the old log in still works. I have been talking to a modelling friend about garden railways and the subject of SAR mineral layouts came up. I seem to recall a raised level layout based on an SAR(?) theme here in the U.K. I think it was 45mm track and it had a very interesting control and signalling system. Now I can't remember if this was in an issue of Garden Rail - it would have been somewhere between 2013 and 2015 - or whether it was on Youtube.
Can anyone help and shed any light on the subject for me please?
Cheers
Ben

I can see why you were looking for that setup, it's very nicely done.

And it no longer exists. The owner and builder dismantled it all earlier this year: http://nwwales.16mm.org.uk/cshhr.html
Unfortunately, he broke Garden Railway Rule No. 1: Wood has no place when building a garden railway. I saw Ian only yesterday and he was telling me that he's sold the track and gave away the rotting timber to neighbours for their wood-burners. He still has the stock though, but it is all up for sale.

Re: Help - U.K SAR info wanted
Very sad news, indeed.
This was a very well thought out operation.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, it was a fantastic set up and I’m very sorry to hear of its demise.
