That's looking great...

Have you tried scribing the brickwork yet?

Looking forward to seeing the rest of it take shape,

Andrew.

I have a half formed plan to add a Bertie to the Millie that already trundles around on the CLR, but I never seem to have the folding stuff in sufficient quantities for long enough for it to happen. Peter in AZ All you need to do is have twins. I persuaded my wife of the need for a Bertie while she...

Doesn't it feel good when you do that?! Almost makes it worth letting it get overgrown...

Hope you get something running soon,

That's excellent, the weathering on both van and loco are great.

I've just noticed the axleboxes on the very nice open wagon in your picture - they're just what I need for a wagon-building project. Do you recall where they're from?

Thanks,

Andrew.

Excellent, thanks.

I doubt I'll install R/C but my line's a conventional "round the lawn" type so I can put a switch in the side that's not usually visible.

I'm suitably inspired now, really must get on with it...

Brilliant! It looks like you've removed the rear seats to fit batteries and a switch - lift off the roof to change direction? A photo or two of how the chassis fits into the body would be much appreciated if you get the chance - I was thinking of simply opening out the four holes that will be left b...

Very nice, love the "bobbins" between the planks and the bolts on top. I'd be tempted to rub away at the paint with some sandpaper to let the real wood show through, gives a nice worn look, but then I like a bit of weathering. I've simulated that in places on my Binnie ones, but of course ...

Look at these little beauties! http://wklr.webs.com/Gladstone%20seats.jpg I was concerned about how I would make decent seats for the Gladstone Car's balconies. The ones in the original IMP kit weren't up to much and I didn't fancy cutting out 22 curved seat ends by hand. WVLR of this forum came to ...

Loving all the guards vans... Nothing wrong with "scrappy", surely that simply means "oozing with narrow gauge charm"?! I recognise the axleboxes on those unidentified vans - there was a range of small wagons that used them about 15 years ago I think. Early IP?

Excellent stuff - I particularly like the slates. As for painting those I'd be inclined to paint 'em all mid-grey, pick out odd ones here and there in slightly lighter or daker shades, and then give the whole roof a darker grey wash... Maybe woodstain for the rest? Or prime and a very simple underst...

me and my mate Mick did try to run a couple of steamers but the cold weather made them hard to light up as the gas was too cold and we were frozen . I've sometimes beaten the cold weather by raising steam indoors and then taking the loco outside when it's ready. Not that my wife is overjoyed when I...

I wonder why Roundhouse have never discontinued this loco. No matter what you do to it its always a Lady Anne I think it's kind of like the Porsche 911, it's sort of become synonymous with roundhouse. I think you're right Matt - just as the "off the peg" designs of Hunslet, Peckett and th...

Any idea's as to when she might be ready? Looking good! There's something surprisingly lifelike about mid-rebuild photos in the larger scales, even with oversize tools or whatever in the background. Guess it's because our railways feel pretty "real" in the first place... I was thinking just yesterday that my old Mamod guards van c...
