Perhaps I'm just being dumb - what links a Deanery to a Christmas carol? OK, I think we'll have to give up - here goes. The Deanery was, up to 1869, the residence of the Dean of Raphoe. Among its visitors would inevitably have been William Alexander, who was Bishop of Derry and Raphoe between 1867 ...

Well, I can only apologise that my question-setting doesn't meet with your approval, and invite you to post a question of your own as you have got the furthest to date. I had thought a more cryptic question might be enjoyed by some, and have tried offering further clues, but no takers so far - fair ...

I'm not sure, but I believe the basic series wheels are force-fit onto the axles, which might result in a little metal lifting around where the axle comes through the wheel hub. I believe this is all that is happening in your case. There's a little grub screw (which appears to fit a 1.3mm Allen key...

Re: Jinty Found-Thought Lost, info sought.
I have just un-earthed an 0 Gauge Jinty live steamer that I thought I had lost years ago after my first divorce. I remember that I never managed to get it to work properly, if at all. I have a feeling it may have been made by a company called Brunton. It is a single cylinder, slip eccentric meths f...

Photos now at http://www.roundhouse-eng.com/stock.htm - I thought them a little reminiscent of some of Brian Clarke's stuff, for those who've been round long enough to remember Saltford Models...

Well, I shall ring Mr. Bailey and sort out which whistle will fit my engine. I'm sure the Billy won't be much different from a Fowler or a Lady Anne in terms of installing it. The Fowler is slightly different in that the resonator is long and thin and sits on the right hand side of the boiler point...
