Re: Gauge One Motive Power
Safe to say I'm happy with this one! Just need to build a second 33/2, design the 73 and then the fun begins, Hastings Unit....... After that I'll definitely need a break after doing nothing but gauge one for months on end! Nearly run out of room which helps keep things under control! I saw this go...

Bowaters Models - Gauge One
Bowaters Models - Gauge One Range Its about time this post went up. With the personal side of the gauge one project approaching its end, (1 loco, 1 DEMU and 3 coach sets left), time to put this up. From the very second I posted my then very much at the time personal Gauge one wagons to run at the l...

Re: Gauge One Motive Power
The 33/2 now has a twin. The 33/0 now exists with Fosworks bogies this time and the change is remarkable. Plenty of power and a lot quieter! Good job I've standardised on them now isn't it! Fortunately, I've sold the old 33/2 to a friend so that can be replaced with another fosworks powered one. Con...

Re: Gauge One Motive Power
I’ve been unreasonably rude about 33s elsewhere on this forum (and to anybody else within earshot probably) but — Hell — I want one of those! Please can you print me one out at 1:26?! Thank you. Fantastic. Oh it can be arranged....... Relatively easily. Drop me a message and I'll see what I can do!...

Re: My First Aster - A Schools
Having finally got some more running out of it, I'm slowly learning how to work it. Although more practise is needed to get the fire being drawn without the blower on. I suspect I need a heavier load (7 plus coaches) to get it properly working. Hopefully a week today I can see if that thoery works. ...

Re: Gauge One Motive Power
Time for the reveal! Both the 33/0 and 33/2 are both complete and under test. The 33/2 has a cruder design which is very noisy while the 33/0 runs on a pair of twin motor Fosworks Power Bogies. Both need some work to convert them to the proper production spec but they're getting there. Designed for ...

Re: Semi-scale BR: The Modernisation Plan
That looks Great! Gives me inspiration to do some more Gauge one Compartment Coaches with all the panelling. Which does mean some Isle of Wight stock (now that will be good to see).

You called? Best thing you can do to join at the moment is drop the Garden Railways Rep (a lovely person called James) on gmes16mm 'at' gmes.org.uk Then he'll be able to best advise what to do. That's how I first made contact followed by a visit to the club to look around and get the paperwork. You'...

Re: Gauge One Motive Power
I like that "33" very much! I grew up in the South East, and 33s, plus the occasional 73 were the only locos to be seen on my local lines. I remember watching them double-head long trains carrying segments of concrete Channel Tunnel liner at Hall Place, near Bexley - I was supposed to be ...

Re: Gauge One Motive Power
Time for a update. With the trio of Battery Shunters and the Schools in operation with now three more to follow (Accucraft Victory, custom built H and Custom Built M7), I do need a more powerful battery engine if nothing else to rescue the train when the schools runs out of meths. So a Bo-Bo diesel ...

Re: Gauge One Rolling Stock in 1:32 scale
Speaking of more models off the personal list, the first set of Maunsell Coaches have finally been completed. 4 Restriction 0 coaches covering all 4 versions. Next plan corridor wise will be some Restriction 1 coaches once I've done the remaining Compartment Coaches and a Hastings Unit (now that wil...

Gauge 1 Test track
After acquiring some more track from the local model engineering society, I finally replaced my LGB Test track with some proper Gauge One track. Its Cliff Barker Code 180 track which should be ok from a running perspective. I've kept all the LGB just encase because the track isn't exactly laid on fl...

My First Aster - A Schools
Despite having a number of Gauge one models for a while and a number of small shunters to run, I've always been longing a steam engine of my own. Thanks to selling off one of my 16mm engines and some birthday money, I was able to afford this! A Aster Schools. https://i.ibb.co/qY1Gkhv/151028175-10158...

Re: Gauge One Motive Power
Brilliant, great to see that gauge 1 is doable without spending thousands on live steam models! Are you planning to produce these as kits? I’ve been thinking that G1 needed something at the more accessible end of the market to get more people interested... As multiple people asked, they're on the w...
