Looking at the kit I would think that it has not had air assist running while the laser was cutting. Air assist tends to reduce the burn/charring to a minimum. Having recently aquired a laser cutter I now know how essential air assist is a what a major impact it has to the final results.

I must say that Andy has been very clever in finding a way to put the Rx into programming mode. That's looking great. One of my next project is to print a loco. I am equipped with LGB track so I think it is 45mm ? Do you have a link to the model you have done for 45mm ?
