Re: Photos Removal

This is kind of an Off Topic. I would like to know if I removed my photos off my MacBook, (I have over 12000 photos and 500 videos) would removing them also remove them off the forum. My MacBook is really old now, Vintage apparently, :lol :lol and is getting slow because they are taking up a lot of...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card

OK, chaps I need some advice, or even just thoughts! I have a Deltang Rx41d-x-v5 lead-out on P2 passed through MA002b, configured as servo on ch4, sitting around doing nothing. I originally got it for the Austo-Daimler but didn't use it so it's currently working fine at controlling the Gmeinder cha...

Re: Using TinkerCAD to produce drawings for 3-D Printing

Well I bit the bullet and downloaded Fusion.....it looks so powerful and for me far too difficult to get to grips with. Has many members know I can't spend to long at my laptop anymore and if I did Anne wouldn't be best pleased, so it is Tinkercad for me I'am afraid, I know it has it's limitations ...

Re: Downloading Fusion 360

Well, I've managed to download and install Fusion. I've had a quick look at it and tried to draw something without referring to the video or online guides, but not got very far (unlike Tinkercad which is fairly intuitive in the early stages). I'm willing to give it a good try. Hopefully, it'll star...

I do hope you always disconnect the power before making your rapaies! Have you seen what happens if you don't!  No, nor have I

I do however agree with the motto of "Keep away from children!", good move

Re: Using TinkerCAD to produce drawings for 3-D Printing

The only down side to locking something in TinkerCad is that not only can't you resize it (the way I would expect), but you also can't move it without unlocking it, unless as you say you make it a favorite and lock the scaling. I use the favorite and lock the scaling for motors and gears etc as thei...

Re: Loco wheels (and other issues) 7/8th scale

Since my original post I have discovered that the wheels 'may' be Sierra Valley items as they certainly look like them plus they have, what appear to be, the same plastic centres. Wether that has any bearing on the choice of axle size in this case is unclear as that specified now is entirely differ...

Hi Bob and welcome to the forum. I don't think you are alone in the stack of 16mm magazines and the like kicking around. Seems such a waste doesn't it  Maybe someone on here might like them, who knows?

Re: HGLW loco tweak

As Steve said, very nice all round, Rik. What speaker are you using, the small one that comes with the sound unit or a larger one? Does anyone know the techs of their speaker, ie impedance and watts? I found the exact same looking speaker as the large one on AliExpress. That is a 4 Ohm 3W speaker. ...

Re: HGLW loco tweak

I used the little oval speaker which came with it - glued under the cab roof as is my normal practice. Maybe the cab itself acts as some sort of resonance chamber? It sounds ok to me, though I'd like to find a way of reducing the volume. Rik Wow that sounded good for the little speaker, mine defini...

Re: What filler?

Interesting subject Steve, thanks. I used to use Squadron White until it changed, as we've said before. I then tried Perfect Plastic Putty because that was getting good review on the plastic kits forums, but I didn't much like it. More recently I've been using Vallejo Plastic Putty, which I like a ...

Re: Using TinkerCAD to produce drawings for 3-D Printing

I didn't know that either  Very handy to know as the fillet is for me, the one essential thing missing from TinkerCad. There's loads of features that make designing a lot easier in 360. However TC does have aspects that are faster and simpler to use, so using both seems ideal if you're not a ...

Re: Using TinkerCAD to produce drawings for 3-D Printing

I didn't know that. The one thing that's certain is that there's more we don't know than we do. Even something as ostensibly simple as Tinkercad has features that most people don't explore. After years with TC, last month I tried the 'send to' command to send a file to Fusion. Revelation; The curve...

Very nice all round Rik, it's so far removed from the original loco you purchased. Personally I like the diesel sound you have, it certainly sounds better then my on desk version, not bad for such a cheap sound card
