I voted Carrie, not because I want them to make another run but just based on feedback I get when I run mine at places. Even the CVLR's workhorse has been the subject of money being waved about my way. But I would never sell her, it's just a great little loco. :D

Swift sixteen kit? Some nice stuff there. Not good for a long a build though but plenty of scope for making it unique.

As I have actually got some time off from work a little update. I hit 40 last wednesday, combined with the joy of being 40 also came the idiotic news that first had stolen the WCML franchise..Which was just great.. But even though railways were the last thing I wanted to know about I still man...

Sorry for the late reply guys (Loz & Trebbers), went a bit mad here after you left as BBQ party for 30 people on saturday afternoon/evening/night. Which by the way was superb, sat on a garden chair in the middle of the lawn drinking beer with loads of people & running trains to entertain the...

Take shotblasting to get CVLR stuff clean. :D The purpose of this though is to get rid of all that splashed up non scale dirt you get with rain & gribbles that like to ride about underneath stock that lives outside. Now that I can drive stuff into the shed it's nice to clean them first. ;)

Had a day off... :D ....spent it all waiting for plumbers & then all the rest of the day stuck at home with them :( . On the plus side I got them to bend a piece of pipe for me to get done what I wanted at Fox Road C&W. Not your usual NG railway item but something I wanted for mine..... <obj...

Agree with above, I did ground level 00 & it was a right pain. The smallest thing derailed stuff, wind blew stuff off & construction was a pain getting it all level & having to solder wire on every track joint as the fishplate electrical connection was not enough on it's own.

Gradients are fun! I am the kind of 16miller that likes to drive my locos rather than set them off & watch, so I prefer gradients. Some prefer to sit back & relax on a flat setup. I have a monster grade on the line, most stuff gets up & down it fine with long trains. Anyway stop faffing ...

I run chuff pipes in almost all my locos (summerlands type). I like the sound they make when driven properly. No more restricted than a normal RH or accy pipe IMHO. In the example of my lady Anne (a modern version) the thing was totally silent when running, now produces a good chuff & much easie...
