Leaving aside Brian's overridingly valid point about size of available venue, it then depends on how you define 'central'. Speaking purely geographically, Central between the top of Scotland and Lands End, probably would put it around Leeds/M62 corridor. Central between Aberystwyth and Yarmouth woul...

I have one of those but struggled to get it to sound the way I wanted and gave up in the end. I'm not totally blaming the unit, it may have been me or it may be that I was expecting too much.

It just looks 'right' somehow, well done. The De Winton somehow fits the scene too, they always look as though they were just cobbled together ( much as I love them!).

If you bought them both from chuffed2bits I suggest giving Mike a ring or drop him an email. Alternatively do a Google for Mtronics, find your two items and download the sets of Iinstructions from them direct. The ESC ones worked for me although I dont have a soundcard so cant comment on that one.

Items of real beauty in their own right.   Works of art, all done by hand.   Worth remembering this could be done without the aid of CAD. Absolutely, Peter. I once built a 4mm model of Brunels "Sounding Arches" bridge at Maidenhead. I somehow managed to talk Western Region into letting me...

The Acer *should* be ok light wise, for once your shady garden will be something of a benefit. I've a feeling that they are fairly particular over soil pH, so it might be worth getting a test kit. I have a cheapy Acer which I bought from Aldi about a year ago. It's close up to the wall of the summe...

Thanks guys, but what measurements do you use to make it 16mm scale? Do you just do it on what looks right? Thanks Whatever you do, don't start by doing it to just "look right" because its odds on that it simply won't. The trick of just looking right only comes from enough experience that...

Can't help with the actual source, but buying strip to those dimensions and in the quantity you will need from a timber merchant/sawmill is likely to be expensive, due to the physical time taken and the amount of waste. You might be better off investing in a bench/table saw and cutting up a plank yo...

Thanks Philip. To gutter or not to gutter that is the question.  If I'm going to be moving these bad boys in and out of the garden twice a year is it asking to be damaged? The end wall looks bare though.  Also wondered about a bit more 3D on the ridge tiles, most clay ones round here have a raised ...

Thanks for the feedback Jim, I might have a mess around with a solar light and see what it will do with my light strips. My wife has a fixation about solar lights in the garden, she buys dozens of the things. They don't seem to last very long in general ( about a year). I'm not sure whether the rec...

When you say controller do you mean this? http://www.mtroniks.net/details1.asp/ProductID/733/digisound5msdt.htm That links contains a wiring diagram so check this as well. That is a sound generator, not the speed controller. I'm pretty sure he means this: http://www.mtroniks.net/details1.asp/Produc...
