Great work, Philip.
I'm glad my musings were of some help - but I think your solution is much more elegant than mine - I do like the tortoise motor action - a lot more realistic than solenoids.

PS - Your garden looks great as well BTW

(It actually wouldn't be that hard - a rubber band or chain drive from the back axle would work)

Nicely co-ordinated with the music - though I don't remember the dog-bark solo in the original by Ludwig about half way through

Re: Announcing the closure of the PMR

Due to an imminent house move and career change the PMR is to be officially closed with immediate effect. Its short working life and short length of track has meant that it was never profitable and has in recent times been to all intents and purposes abandoned. The passenger traffic that the lines ...

ModelTown steam lorry motorised

After posting my last video (the time lapse of Beeston Market station), someone asked if the steam lorry in it was motorised. At the time, I said, "No." - but now the answer would be "Yes - and radio controlled". It's not a very sophisticated conversion, and it could be done more...

All the best things are worth waiting for Andrew ....... it's a good idea to think things through. I spent around five years planning my railway before I laid my hand on a spade.

Impressive progress. Really like the trestles and cribbing.
Just wondering how you're going to stabilise the dirt, or does it tend to bake rock hard?

In the meantime - there's this video showing a battery and a live steam loco being controlled by a Deltang Tx22. Very interesting, thank you. Can I ask a question please? On the steam loco, am I correct in thinking that the central dot at the 12 o'clock position does not indicate/set "regulato...

Thanks for the accolades folks. I've only just picked up on this thread. By coincidence (yes really - before I saw this thread), I've just released the RCT-Tx24 which is designed for controlling up to twelve live steamers (or a mix of live steam and battery). I've had a couple of enquiries about a T...

Ive been thinking how useful this new vapeing trend could be, I dont use them at all but their potential for providing smoke for steam train photography is very appealing. Blowing a mouthful through a tunnel just as a train emerges, or having a loco apparently wreathed in steam while stood in a yar...

Knowing your abilities with electronics Rik, I won't be surprised if you tell me the steam road lorry is radio controlled, but all the passengers and station staff as well ( ;))!!! You must keep pretty fit being chief of everything during an operating session like that. Grant. No, not motorised the...
