Re: Kerr Stuart diesel
Looks like one of the batch built by Dave Holroyd. If so, there is a review and photos in the Jan. 2017 issue of Garden Rail showing the innards. It's a nice model. Certainly sets the bar quite high....... Ah yes, that's the name! I had a chat with the owner of the one in the photo, who showed me t...

Re: Kerr Stuart diesel
Hi all, No real progress on this, but I did see a very nice version of the KS diesel at the Exeter show last weekend, which provided inspiration: KS4415.jpg It's good, isn't it?! It's by a chap whose name I've forgotten, but was beautifully detailed and ran very well too. Mine won't be as good as th...

Re: (WH)WHR Rolling Stock
Afternoon all, The two current wagon projects, the WHR van and open, have almost reached the finish line this week. Having received final details, including brake gear, they've now been weathered too, apart from a few rust streaks and patches here and there. I don't seem to have the right colours of...

Re: The Leawarra Nayook Railway
Very nice!
I love the real railway vibe, like a Southern hemisphere version of Rik's line. The new brake's a lovely vehicle - I'll be building a guard's van myself soon, but unfortunately NWNGR/WHR vans were very much more basic!
All the best,
Andrew.

Your shed's progressed at a very impressive pace Rik - faster than some of your foamboard creations! It looks great too, congratulations!

Re: The Great Garden Railway Inspection Reports
Great report, thank you! I think the inspector was very lucky to get a cab ride in so fine a loco as "Lord of the Isles"... Rather alarming though that he seems almost disappointed not to find a reason to close a line down - is he some relation to Dr Beeching?! I'm watching with trepidatio...

Re: Bowaters Models - 16mm Rolling Stock Kits
I really like the look of the "shortie" FR carriage 16, that's going on the wish list. It's a long list, and I don't have the time or money at the moment, but I look forward to seeing it at Exeter tomorrow, even if I won't be making a purchase just yet...

Re: The Leawarra Nayook Railway
Those photos are fantastic - the locos, stock, railway infrastructure and garden just blend together beautifully. I think the second photo in particular is probably one of my all-time favourite, garden railway photos... Thanks for posting them - looking forward to more over the coming months! All th...

Excellent - just start with the smoke deflectors and everything will fall into place!
Actually, is it "Repton" that ran without them recently? Looks all wrong to me...
Anyway, happy building!

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?
Glad you got an Open Day in before taking your models in Peter. The damage doesn't look too bad, considering the amount of buildings you've made for your line? Good solid construction techniques, clearly! I thought last weekend might see the last of the year's passenger service on my line, but that ...

Yes, the Schools is a great idea - would you consider tender drive to be cheating?! Playmobil Wild West loco?
Cheers,
Andrew.

Re: Semi-scale BR: Strictly Bulleid*
I'd missed this before, lovely video, thanks. I particularly enjoyed the banked goods train featuring both locos. And, for me, the music and sound effects work well... Your locos reminded me of a letter I saw in an old magazine, possibly a Garden Railway World from 30-ish years ago, where the writer...

Re: wiring?
Excellent, thanks chaps. I'd not heard of Eneloop batteries before, they look great. Can they go in a regular charger?
I'll try to find time to get the loco apart over the next week or two to see what size battery pack I'll need and he space available...
Cheers,
Andrew.

Re: wiring?
Those are lovely clear diagrams, thanks Rik. I've got a dead Andel "Moelwyn" which I'd like to bring back to life - I'm pretty sure the problem is that the rechargable batteries have been allowed to get so flat that they'll no longer take a charge. It's because I can go for long periods wi...
