Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

The VW bus is finished and runs well under test on my indoor layout. Pictures show it outdoors but the railway isn't tidy enough to even attempt a circuit. All of the RC control gear is in the rear of the model and well hidden. A black painted plasticard screen conceals everything from view through ...

I haven't added to this thread since mid February and failed to notice the viewing numbers have now shot over the one million mark, and then some! It is hard to believe it has proved so popular and I have to say a huge thank you to each and every person who has followed this thread and made it such ...

What an incredible collection of things which many people would otherwise think of as scrap.... I love 'em!

Re: Early editions of 16mm Today magazines

C'mon guys, your Forum needs you! These magazines are nearly thirty years old and still in good condition. Certainly too good to throw away. They are interesting historical documents of early days of 16mm modelling and well worth reading. Will someone please offer £10.00 and I will pay the postage. ...

A truly incredible story of ambition and dedication. You can't begin to imagine how impressed I am with what you have achieved. I have read every word of your journey and, despite not understanding car mechanics, have thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I'm envious of the F-100 Pick-up model truck too.

Model T's make into great rail conversions. If I had one it wouldn't last long!

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

Continuing with the build, I found a motor with attached gearbox in my 'useful' collection and, to my delight, the axle fitted the second set of wheels.... 100_0765.JPG More modification (AKA destruction) of the underside soon followed in order to sink the motor inside the body shell. Fortunately, t...

Thanks for the link Graeme, I thought I had recollection of something similar but expected it to have been in model form. Perhaps it has been done somewhere?

Big fan of funny little cars myself, especially Messerschmitts... (Try making one of those into a railcar! :D)
Little three wheelers possibly wouldn't be suitable for conversion to narrow gauge, but if you feel confident enough, try this for size...

I am watching a yellow and white one, on EvilBay, presently..

Phil.P
The yellow and white one appears to be a smaller scale and not to be confused with the die cast, Road Signature manufacture. 1:18 is the nearest to our 16mm/ft. scale.

Constantly thinking about what to do next my eyes gazed upon an item which I have shown in the past.
