Re: Making points.

Hi Graeme,

Looking good, I have never made a conventional point with a bending blade maybe next time.
I have tested the points just finished.

Re: Making points.

Hi Rik, That is very kind of you but I am not very good with computers so not sure if they would be useful. But if it isn't too much trouble for you I will have a try. I have read Garden Railways but never subscribed, I have met Marc Horovitz a few times who was and still might be its editor. Even c...

Re: What can be done with a couple of Paste Tables.

Hi Rik, Are the locos powered off the shelf or more of your clever mods? They are modified children's toys mostly bought in charity shops for a couple of pounds. The ones I mostly use were marketed by a company known as 'Golden Bear' in Telford; I believe they were discontinued some years ago. They ...

Some Narrow Gauge and Garden Railways in Wales 1997.

Hi, I have been copying some more of the many old videos that I made many years ago. In 1997 a friend had been employed as a tour guide for 14 Americans visiting railways and garden railways in the UK. Unfortunately at the last minute the assistant tour guide fell ill and I was asked if I would like...

Re: A boiler for Ellie.

Re: Ellie the Steam Tram. Building a double acting engine.

Hi John, I made only two drawings making the engine both of which are attached. 001 IMG_1744 crop.jpg 002 IMG_1776.JPG The dimensions are the same as Mamod use on their locomotive: Trunnion to axle 1.7/8" (48 mm used), Steam Port centres 1" (25 mm used), Stroke 3/4" (18 mm used). If t...

Re: A visit to Mr. Jones garden railway 1997.

Hi Simon, Good to hear from you. Gaynor and I at the last minute were asked to escort 14 American tourists on a coach tour of some of the Garden Railways and narrow gauge railways of Wales, we could have done with a couple of Border Collies but that is another story. For many years I had used cine a...

Alcoholic Mamod Bashing!

Hi,

Even after almost a year of lock downs I never thought I would tire of playing in my shed. So for a bit of a change I have been going through old photographs and video and attempting to copy those that I thought might be found interesting.
