I am glad my little line has inspired you Ben :) When I started out in 16mm scale a ground level line was a no go for me and like you I was determined not to just have a railway on wooden 'stilts'.  With the right garden planting you can hide a raised line so it blends into it's environment. As for ...

Thanks for the responses.

My idea will not work anyway as the pony truck will be out too far using Baldrigs rule (thanks Tony):

Roundhouse pony truck size

Hi there,

Could someone please tell me or measure the length from the pivot point (where it attaches to the frame spacer) to the axle of the pony truck as used on the Roundhouse Fowler?

Thanks in advance...

Thanks for the 'positive' comments.

The video is edited at half speed, however, Regners can run at slow speeds with no issues.

Rather than fueling rumours I would suggest you contact Chris Bird directly.

He is ridiculously helpful and would not release a product with issues.

Blower is only used when stationary although I leave it open until the loco is in full movement.

The servos should not jitter like that something is wrong. I use the same transmitter and servos but a Spektrum receiver.

On the transmitter have you got all the trims dead centre and the rate switch set to LO?

Also, check the manual and try turning DSMX on/off.

These are models and do not create anywhere near the same amount of ash, smoke and dirt as a full sized version.  I am just making the point that people will always try and pass a 'negative' comment on something they don't have or consider to not be for them and ensure others around them follow. I a...

I not had any issues with excess ash/oil creating a grinding paste.

In reality steam locos do not look like shiny 'Tonka toys' so dirt is good :)

Riverdale boilers run much longer than those with used with water pumps as you are not wasting energy driving them. The run in the video was around 25 minutes and I was outside for over a hour. The great thing is when either the fire/water is low you simply stop and top up. The lubricator is extra l...

Peter, I am very sorry for your loss and I know I would be mortified if this had happened to my Labrador.

I agree regarding toys which is why I never buy them. I tend to give our dog a pig knuckle to gnaw which then ends up being a toy to lob around the garden. He even likes offcuts of timber.

Hi Ben, I am using the same track as you and have sprung points so that they always are set in the same position every time. This is useful on a dog bone as the trains will always go the same way round. If your line is raised you can simply put a bolt through the centre of the draw bar of the point ...

The copper chimney cap is just to match my SL, however, I do have a OO scale GWR Pannier tank with the same set up ;) If you have always wanted a pop safety valve for your RH loco Polly Engineering can supply these with the correct thread 5/16" x 32ME although you have to calibrate it yourself....
