Re: North Pilton Works

I've just built 3 x 5 plank wagons which I got from a ebay seller who hadn't built them. I was impressed by the quality and decided to get more kits having forgotten the previous slowness of service. Has anyone had some recent good service from North Pilton Works?

Water top up bottle

Hi Gang, I need a pumped water top up bottle that will fit an accucraft top up valve. I would use dream steam but they don't show it on their on line listings. Where can I get one from?

I have found that a high pressure valve and a gas burner give a good performance.

Re: Hampshire Spec Modular Railway

We now have 10 modules under construction with the both gauges on the boards. By having a main line with each gauge and room to spread, it is hoped that passing loops of each gauge will be made by members. Pictures will follow once we have something to photograph.

Hampshire Spec Modular Railway

The Hampshire 16mm group is considering building a modular railway but unlike the standard spec of the 16mm Association has both 32mm and 45mm running lines. Our group has both gauges and wanted all to be able use modules without having to exclude 45mm members. Each module owned by a member allows a...

Re: Electric's on the Grockle Garden Railway

If you were to change the transformer to the Hornby radio control power units then speed could be controlled from anywhere. No dimmer switches needed.

As to the question, Gauge is the distance between the rails and the required voltage is what the train needs to run. In this case 12 Volts

Re: Peterborough

If you're planning on having a group photo then I'd suggest either outside the Atrium near the Driver for a Fiver or in front of one of the massive doors inside the main hall... the one furthest from the atrium is probably best. I won't be able to join in as I'll be busy organising and running the ...

The WPSR assisted in running Thomas round the track. Interesting engineering!!

The problem about its running was that it didn't have a boiler certificate and ran on meths Neither of which is allowed on that particular railway setup by the owners.
