Re: India
ge-rik, it has been an privilege to read your story's and watch the photo's. Seen the impression it has left in me, I guess this country really does get under your skin big time when you're actually there. Thanks very much for taking the effort to share your story and fight the monkey's in the compu...

Re: New Station Building
Great station! I do love the dog, very nice detail. What I'm curious about is what the sunlight (UV) does to all the printed detail. I presume the building goes inside your garage during winter? If you have a lot of the same forms to print, it could be an option to print a few, make a mold and pour ...

Re: Llewellyn Loco Works #1
Yes please, I would love to see the bikes too.. :D I have a small concearn about the servo though. On all my locomotives, the place where that servo is, is the nastiest, greasiest and dirtiest place of the whole locomotive. Steamoil, hot watercondensate and grease from the smokebox drip down here, a...

Re: Bielefeld Hf110c on Roundhouse chassis.
Since I had half a can of royal blue carpaint left from the Regner locomotive, I thought the Bielefeld locomotive would look nice in a blue jacket too. After sanding an spraying the engine, I found pictures of the original locomotive in the livery belonging to the new name she has: Francesca. http:/...
Re: India
Brilliant story and pictures! It's absolutely a full scale garden railway.. Thanks for sharing.
Re: New Tool
and a ladder for picking strawberries.. Cardboard-oil and airhooks. We can open a toolshop with this kind of stuff. A little tin of sparks for sparkplugs and a bigger "money saver" container for 8 cylinder motors.
New Tool
I hope they will make this one also in smaller versions, since I have roundhouse and Regner locomotives and I always need 2 sets of spanners for metric and english bolts..

Re: Llewellyn Loco Works #1
Absolutely brilliant! The workshop you have, as well as your locomotive..! I'll show your workshop at my work as an example of how a professional workspace should look like. The best thing about it is the floor however. It can be cleaned with water and soap, you see every tiny bit you drop and...

Re: Bassett Lowke Super Enterprise in LMS Crimson Lake
You could use this locomotive with Lionel, MTH or K-line 3 rail track I guess. You have them plenty in the US and for reasonable money..
Re: India
Nevertheless, with your story I can sort of "taste the atmosphere" and that already provides sort of "pictures" in my mind..

Re: Bassett Lowke Super Enterprise in LMS Crimson Lake
I've seen them on ebay a few times. I thought they where a new batch, but obviously they are not. What sort of cylinder valves are used? Since it has joints in the pushrods, I guess they are fixed cylinders. So they have to have some kind of valve system..?

Re: Regner project
Thanks for the compliments guys, the colour I've used is Motip carpaint. It's a few coats of royal blue and a few coats of clear halfmatt laquer to protect the paint. After harding it's fairly strong, I managed to put the handrails on without chipping anything. And it copes with the temperature very...

Re: Regner project
Thanks Ian, Today the loco went on the track, the gastank fills up to the brim and lasts for about 45 minutes. The only problem I found was that the burner stopped because my chuffer is too deep in the chimney. Steam fills the smokebox sometimes, and that causes the fire to go out, because it presse...

We would need Isambard Kingdom Brunel as a host for that program..Killian Keane wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 9:06 pm It might be blasphemy for me to say this, but if they end up doing a second series, I might suggest that they not use a narrow gauge locomotive, that would aid with the constant falling off problem, maybe gauge 3?

Re: eBay madness
There still are bargains, but you need to be lucky. Sometimes things are listed in the wrong category or with the wrong name or the seller has no clue whatshowever he's selling. You can't use the search bar for that. I've seen an Aster gauge 1 mogul live steam engine going for under 400 pounds a few...

Nice work, these could be one of the most important pieces for a good working steam engine..
