Indeed.

The FR modells Linda-Blanche, Criccieth Castle and Taliesin are smaller then the Roundhouse freelance models like Katie, Carrie, Lady Ann, Billy, (Russell) etc.

On CC the wheel controls speed and direction so Roundhouse probably thinks the wheel needs centering to keep the loco on hold.

I took this pic when removing the spring of the steeringwheel on the TX supplied with Criccieth Castle back in January. Acoms Technisport 2.4Ghz Desolder the 3 spots within the red-circle, center of pic ;)  as the main circuitboard needs to be removed to gain acces to the spring. The lever and sprin...

I did open the same Tx which came with Criccieth Castle. Removing the spring of the wheel needs soldering! Trottle is easy. I don't like to run my (expensive) modells with the Tx shutt off!

Yes, it has. I don't like holding the trottle for direction of travel, maybe disconnect the spring as the lever should be full for- or backward.
