It is nice seeing it built without modification; almost a time warp, and a nice "museum" piece. I am surprised it was rusty! Are you fitting inside or keeping that simple too?

Re: Enamel signs
I had some from them, and they were high quality. But these look to be the same signs, although I haven't bought any yet.

The station is under a plate glass mirror to ensure its level, but I thought to dress it up with ladder and wheelbarrow etc. to make it look less a model in construction. Thought a pile of sand would look nice. It's sculpted from plasticene, then dusted with kitchen salt. The I used Silgum to form a...

Hi guys, havn't been around for some time as (real) work has been limiting leisure time. Nice to see that most of you are still here. However had few days off so there has been some progress on Rylston Station. Don't hold your breath for the finished article! It will probably be years. ./myff/202235...

Hi I have a Accucraft Baldwin lamp unused. My line is very UK so I removed mine to fit lamp irons. It is unlit as supplied. However you can fit a lamp. I used my second one one a snow plough (based around a SwiftSixteen plough front-end). I fitted a LED by carefully drilling up vertical from the bas...

Sorry Keith Want to give you feedback but can't bring myself to vote as I think it would be misleading! I hate the top picture BUT I suspect what I don't like is the very thick effect of the washers as spectacles. I realise that the washers are not the finished article, but if you can try a thinner ...

The Swift Sixteen instructions are very explicit and helpful. But I started my assembly before they appeared on the website. My own choice; I knew they were coming but I never could resist peeping at Christmas presents either! At times he is very specific about where to file and where to pare down w...

Well I decided to rush in where fools . . . and picked up a half-round file. By much trial and error (and taking small amounts off) I eased the motor cut-out in the floor. The top floor is the easement that allows 30inch radii to be negotiated; the lower floor is as moulded. ./myff/1880559/web+compa...

I have been assembling and re-assembling dry runs to determine the best wiring layout/runs (for lights as well as the motor). In doing this I have a slight concern about the permitted rotation of the powered bogie. Has anyone had a minimum radius quoted to them. I have re-looked at the Swift Sixteen...

Unrealism
We often wax lyrical over model photographs that are taken in such away that they look just like the real thing. But how about examples of the opposite: reality that somehow looks like a model? This is a 1:1 scale garden arch in Bressingham Gardens; but doesn't just look like a very good garden line...
