Model coal fired vertical boiler locomotive
Hi, A friend recently purchased a coal fired model locomotive which performed very well on its first run in his owners ship. Due to having Covid I didn't attend and the video was taken by my friend's partner. https://youtu.be/Ui8-FrvK8_o I am very tempted to make a copy I hope you enjoy. Take care T...

Making a copy of a Tenmille point lever.
Hi,
I have been making points for a paste table model railway I am making for children to play on, and I needed some point levers and rather than buying them as eight are needed I thought I might make them:

Accucraft Ruby.
Hi,
A young friend had bought a new Accucraft Ruby which the cylinders came loose on after only a few runs. It is the first time I have worked on one of these models and I don't think their quality control is that good.

Re: Making Ceramic Gas Burners.
Hi Tim, The burner I know, as I have just made it is 10 x 30mm and uses a number 3 jet. The boiler is 55mm in diameter, not sure of the length, I will check and get back to you, but less than 100mm. However, any calculations will be effected by the couple of heat exchangers fitted under the boiler. ...

Re: Return to an old project.
Hi Aaron, I've never seen an engine quite like that, fascinating little machine. Ransomes and Rapier made a few locomotives both steam and later diesel, a lot of the steam ones being a little different. They also made a lot of heavy plant including self propelled steam cranes, their locomotive for a...

Hi Simon,
No, as with parting off, with hand turning you keep cutting until the work piece falls off leaving a small dimple which one or two strokes with a file is removed.
Have a Great and healthy 2022. Catch up some time.
Take care G&T.
