Re: Merlin Mayflower and...
An opening smokebox sounds excellent. It's one thing I miss about my long-sold Accucraft engine. It's just an idea of mine, as original parts for Merlin locomotives more than 40 years after the company's demise are no longer available I bought these. I hope with my modest knowledge and machinery (m...

Re: Modern Darjeeling, DHR, coach information
It is a passenger car with a police compartment: GKB 2nd/Guard, and a dining car: Dining Car "Tensing Norgay". For both cars I have already assembled and painted the frames and the four bogies including the wheels. I also bought additional parts for this Darjeeling wagon: Various cast part...

Hi Max A good friend of mine and a member of our Austrian forum built and labeled several Yatton models years ago, he offered them for sale in 2017 and posted photos of them in our forum. Yatton DHR 1.jpg Yatton DHR 2.jpg Yatton DHR 3.jpg Yatton DHR 4.jpg Yatton DHR5.jpg Yatton DHR6.jpg Gerald ;)

Further small advances on my Mayflower. I have, what i call it a dual coupling system, installed. On the one hand an LGB (contemptuously called beer bottle opener in German) and an Accucraft system on the front and rear of the buffer beams. Also two rows of rivets attached next to the buffers. Repai...

Wow, what a layout - it's huge! Indeed it was. A complete lap with my Roundhouse Sandy River, starting on our service track. 6 service tracks on each of the 4 tables https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-C54ek-pOPM A small selection -not all- of the other models. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjKn2xuA...

Re: Merlin Mayflower and...
No further construction progress with my Merlin. But last weekend I was able to test you extensively on a large Modelrailway layout in Friedrichshafen. The video is from a model railroad friend who filmed his Regner 99 4701. I had my hands full operating the remote control. But from 1:28 minute on y...

A second half of the mold was created for the tin casting. Unfortunately, all the materials, resin, heat-resistant silicone and the gold color for the lettering, I bought for a long time and already a bit old. The resin had a lot of air pockets. 20210620_073902 (2).jpg One or two tin casts are reaso...

Attentive viewers of the pictures will have noticed that the sign with the serial number is missing on the left side of the cabin, mine has the number 460. 3.jpg Wrapped the existing sign with a plasticine collar. This form is filled with a liquid and heat-resistant silicone consisting of 2 componen...

Merlin Mayflower and...
some questions, but… first a few words how the Mayflower came to me. Hutzel that's what it says on the name plate of the Merlin Mayflower, which I recently bought in an Austrian online sales platform for what I think was little money. Hutzel, according to my research, means shriveled, dried pear in ...

Re: Weitere Verbesserungen an einem Roundhouse Fowler
Hello Aaron, very nice slow run of the Fowler in a wonderfully designed outdoor layout. :thumbleft: Only the noise of the slomo wagon bothers a bit. But I know the problem, I built a slomo wagon with 2 zecars myself, the mechanical delay is close to the original but the noise is a bit annoying. Gree...

Re: Snowdon mountain railway - rack and pinion in garden form?
There is a risk that water in the boiler will cover this outlet rather than steam from the top of the boiler entering it. and not only that, with a straight boiler the front area of the burner tube (internally fired models) is when driving uphill without water cover. Due to the intense heat from a ...

In our forum in Austria, a member built a cogwheel locomotive (actually 3 for different buyers) and touched on his experiences with the LGB track in the construction reports (especially the drive cogwheel). https://www.schienendampf.com/34487225nx30160/gasbefeuert-f6/z1-schafbergbahn-t1933.html All ...

A picture from days long past. In 2006 the winter was very snowy. The tracks are laid on a compact pile of snow. The Regner Waldbahn No. 1 did its job well even in cold temperatures.
