Impressive progress. Really like the trestles and cribbing.
Just wondering how you're going to stabilise the dirt, or does it tend to bake rock hard?

In the meantime - there's this video showing a battery and a live steam loco being controlled by a Deltang Tx22. Very interesting, thank you. Can I ask a question please? On the steam loco, am I correct in thinking that the central dot at the 12 o'clock position does not indicate/set "regulato...

Might have to tow a car battery though for a battery powered loco

Thanks for the accolades folks. I've only just picked up on this thread. By coincidence (yes really - before I saw this thread), I've just released the RCT-Tx24 which is designed for controlling up to twelve live steamers (or a mix of live steam and battery). I've had a couple of enquiries about a T...

Ive been thinking how useful this new vapeing trend could be, I dont use them at all but their potential for providing smoke for steam train photography is very appealing. Blowing a mouthful through a tunnel just as a train emerges, or having a loco apparently wreathed in steam while stood in a yar...

Knowing your abilities with electronics Rik, I won't be surprised if you tell me the steam road lorry is radio controlled, but all the passengers and station staff as well ( ;))!!! You must keep pretty fit being chief of everything during an operating session like that. Grant. No, not motorised the...

That's a busy station you have there Rik.... I've spent time on New Street Station, Birmingham, and seen less movement. I do like the way you take time to move your figures about too, that makes it look more convincing. I've edited out the bits of video where nothing happens (ie when I'm roaming ar...

A day at Beeston Market in 8 minutes

Been at it again with the camera and time lapse. This time I've compressed the working of a full day's timetable at Beeston Market station into 8 minutes. <object width="640" height="480"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JI0FXL9AlwM?version=3&...

It looks something like what our Builder's Merchant calls 'Crusher Run' - though it looks a lot finer that the stuff stocked by our merchant.

Whatever it is, it looks perfect. Must try and find some for my next reballasting exercise.

Some time ago I bought a Tx22 (and other bits) from Rik and a couple of days ago I finally unpacked it and found that it had a small problem with a component. Rik advised me to return it which I did and I've already had the postage refunded and the repaired controller is on it's way back to me. An ...

Simple but effective, particularly with the lettering looking like various handwriting styles, nice touch. Thanks Peter. There's an amazing array of fonts out there. I just searched for 'chalk fonts' and got dozens which I could use - including some simulating handwriting in crayon. One of my favou...

Wagon destination boards

Some of you may be aware that freight operations are important on my railway. With around 60 goods wagons and my freight management computer program, I can run fairly interesting and varied freight movements (though probably somewhat excessive for a light railway in the 1930s). However, trying to co...

A realistic looking little scene. Makes me appreciate how important infrastructure is to a railway setting. I now need a spell of wet weather to give me the opportunity to stop running trains and get into the workshop. We've been very lucky here in the NW weatherwise for the past week or so (not oft...

Great to see a road that leads somewhere, Peter. Certainly adds to the realism. I keep meaning to add more level crossings to match the roads which my hypothetical railway would have crossed had it been built (five plus a road bridge (which I have built)). Another for the to do list methinks....

Very helpful review. Looks like a nice little loco - might encourage a few to dip into the battery pool. :)

I wonder if a small 3.7v li-ion (eg 14500) might give it a bit more oomph. That motor looks like it could handle a few more volts.
