Fancy joining this 16mm association special interest group anyone
Copied from the 16mm Assoc Facebook Page - posted on 1 April ...... Too late for this month's bulletin, but happy to announce the launch of a new 16mm Special Interest Group. As a long time naturist, I was pleased to discover a number of keen garden railwayers amoung the community, a few informal ch...

Re: Gmeinder & Co loco
I might be wrong, but I think the red blobs and yellow smudge are actually in the background way behind the loco.

More seriously, what do you use to produce the lovely schematic diagrams like this one. It obviously doesn't take all that long to do, given the response time from my post to your reply. Just created a blog post explaining how I do it - https://riksrailway.blogspot.com/2024/04/how-i-create-my-picto...

Re: 32mm/45mm railway
Another possibility is that the 3' gauge railway is the 'mainline' and the 2' gauge railway is an 'Estate Railway' transporting goods and passengers from/to the mainline to/from a stately home.

They must have existed but not yet tracked one down.
Of course, the Peckforton Light Railway is a three-foot line with two two-foot feeders (copper mine and sand quarry) ....
Welcome to the forum BTW

Re: A short 4-wheel wagon
Almost forgot. Some skip wagons have inside frames. You'd need to shorten the wheelbase, though.

Re: A short 4-wheel wagon
The only inside framed wagons I can think of were early chaldron wagons. No doubt there were other styles.

Re: Cabbed Hunslet
Paint job looks fine to me, Steve. I'm never sure about having a high gloss finish on ng locos. I tend to dull mine down with a coat of satin lacquer anyway.

Re: Wibbly wobbly roof
Rik, Even though the temp outside hasn't been that hot inside a shed the temp could be up to or greater than twice the outside temp. I had a opaque polycarbonate patio roof at a previous house and the temp under was far hotter than the air temp and it was open on 3 sides. Cars internal temp here ca...

Re: The First Great Project...
I'm in favour of stakes to mark out the track-bed. I drove them into the ground, so their tops showed the intended track level around the garden (except where there was a below ground level cutting.... )

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card
PS. It's probably advisable to protect the link from P3 to the soundcard with a 1k resistor, or maybe even a 4.7k resistor if you're powering the soundcard with 7.4v Rik PS - Now corrected the label for the switch and added the 1k resistor to the wiring diagram (see above) I am no electrician nor t...

Re: HGLW loco tweak
I was asked on Youtube about the hauling capabilities of the loco. At the time, I had no idea. But I added couplings yesterday and so today did a highly sophisticated load test - basically adding wagons until the wheels just started slipping. It took 13 LGB skips plus a brake van. Far more than I wi...

Thanks chaps. Yes, I've decided to replace all the roofs with plasticard. I can see the other roofs ending up like this eventually.

Wibbly wobbly roof
I have now made three models of an early version of the Southwold Railway Cleminson coaches. The first one is now a couple of years old. Its roof was made from five 3D printed sections glued together. After fixing the passengers inside, I decided to glue down the roof using prototypical arched batte...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card
Yup, a standard 603c will work straight out the box using pin 1 onto the white signal wire of the soundcard. Obviously with all negatives and positives attached  If for some bizarre reason it doesn't then you can reprogramme using 2,1,1,1,1 I thought P1 on a standard MR603 gave forward lig...
