Thanks for the words of encouragement gentlemen. I have called in a favour and have the use of a mini digger for a weekend in a week or two. So a major earth moving session is in the planning stage. I have made a little progress with a small survey. It appears that the slope on the flatish bit is ev...

Ah I should have looked closer at the back of the boiler. I do own a brick and the regulator and level plug does look archangelish.

Any one got any ideas as to what it is or was, or does it just need putting out of its misery? I can identify the mamod wagon and I think there might be a mamod revers...

Oh Bu**~R

I have spent the weekend working on clearing the part of my garden that is destined for a large man shed and railway. It now transpires that the sort of 'flatish' bit is not as flatish as I thought. The ground falls away at a rate of about 18 inches per 5 foot, I could work out a percentage but it i...

Red silicone sounds like a hylomar type instant gasket. These are very good (rolls Royce used it for headgaskets for years) if a little messy. If you have two flat mating surfaces then gasket paper can be used, all you do is cut it to size and oil it before fitting. You should get it from a proper m...

Try contacting the museum in Southwold, I seem to remember they had a fair few photos of the railway.

Luke, I can vouch for the popularity of the O gauge line at Brambleton. It did not get as much use as it should have done when I was involved in the club 20 years ago. This was mainly down to not having enough people at a running session to get all the stations open. But it was great fun when the wh...

Stolen Items

Having looked at the posts in the Stolen Items board, I was wondering if any of the items missing have turned up? Following on from that it did occur to me that most Garden Railway items, in 16mm at least, are somwhat unique. There is very little RTR stuff and most kit built items are personalised t...

Two more steamers to add to the stable.

A very battered pair of B/lowke moguls have been discovered in my late fathers collections of assorted stuff. Goodness knows when they were last steamed. Does any one here run one at all? I will try and post a few pics when I can find the camera. I don't think I will keep them as they don't really f...
