Complete kit incl. motor, gears, battery holder, switch, wires. It uses tabs and slots in order to make it easy to assemble. Not particularly bothered if I don't sell any - I need an electric loco for myself and I like working with CAD and the laser cutter. Looks should improve once it has some mesh...

Scale or TLAR?
I'm curious about peoples interest in the hobby. Are you a stickler for correct scale or does That Looks About Right work for you? All the different scales make my head hurt especially because they seem to mix imperial and metric measurements. I'm Danish so imperial does not come natural to me. Gene...

Are you intending to sell these? I will if there is any interest. I can offer them for only £5 each with the MDF/ply wheels (they may be replaced with acrylic). They have proper oilite bushes and silver steel axles. I don't have any track/points and won't get any until next week at the earliest so ...

If you can make a sketch of how you would like the frames I'm sure I could make something on the laser. If you don't mind MDF I can sell my flatbed wagons for £5 each. I can make them from ply as well but they would cost a bit more then - probably another quid. You would have to source your own whee...

I understand what you mean now. I can't think that would be much of an issue if they are inserted into a frame. I like your kit - looks good. My take on the flatbed is to use tabs and spreaders to make it easier to build and ensure good alignment. Something a child could build in a relatively short ...

Time will tell how MDF wheels hold up but is suspect that unless I do 1000 miles a year they will be just fine. Pennies to replace them anyway. I'm going to try cutting some from acrylic when my order for that arrives. I should probably make some covers for the bearings so they look more like proper...

Laser flatbed
I've been having a play with the laser and made this little flatbed with load. The flatbed is made from MDF. Looks fine with a coat of primer. Wheels are MDF/ply. Oilite bearings and silver steel axles.

I've been buying GR lately in order to catch up on the hobby after some years of pursuing other interests. I am a bit overwhelmed by the content/advertising ratio. I have been in the micro R/C aircraft hobby for many years and there has been strong decline in innovative scratch building with all the...
