Re: Some Saturday afternoon jobs
The tombstones look very effective, Big Jim is tempting me towards having a church (I wonder why?) in my village and they would look great there.

Re: Ebay purchase..... freepost!
I love the idea of a floating island Daan, the whole country could be moved to new climatic areas on demand, however, I can foresee conflict already as it would take a political decision to organise a referendum on where to go, followed by discussions in 'The House' on diplomatic relations for trave...

Re: NWNG Railways No.1
David, thank you for the explanation of 'internal corners' and reference to the earlier pictures to illustrate what you mean. I hadn't thought it through sufficiently to appreciate where they were to be sited.... now I understand. Looking forward to your solution to this problem but have every confi...

Very clever stuff Grant, beautifully executed and filmed.... certainly different to the usual garden railway storyline.

Re: NWNG Railways No.1
Nothing short of a masterclass in modelmaking and I'm enjoying every post on this build. Please excuse my ignorance on the detailing of the original you are re-creating, but I don't understand what 'internal corners' are which you are going to replicate.

A few more of the engineering masterpieces were delivered today, including one of the fan blades, clearly designed with wind surfers in mind only 30 miles distant off the beautiful Ceredigion coastline....

Re: Ebay purchase..... freepost!
What is it, a silo? It, or should I say 'they' as there were two of them in convoy, are just the first bases of many new wind turbine towers being delivered to a prominent viewpoint of natural beauty so they can be enjoyed by all of the tourists and visitors to the area. I'm sure the locals will ma...

Ebay purchase..... freepost!
I needed a new wine cooler, so when I saw this on ebay I quickly selected white and chose 'large'....
I must have miscalculated the dimensions and placed a decimal point incorrectly, however, it was freepost, so I can't send it back now!

A thing of great natural beauty and a work of art too! That is spectacular! Although it is recent work it looks so well established, top marks.

Re: Revamping the stream
Very well explained and illustrated Rik, I am not a fan of maintenance for its own sake but to be able to improve a site and add further detailing too makes it all worthwhile.

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?
Well.... thanks guys for your comments, you spur me on! So many questions, I will try to answer them all..... Rik.... Bonnet. This came from a plastic model car which I won on ebay ages ago. It was a novelty radio but absolute rubbish, however, it was cheap and I only wanted the model. Out came the ...

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?
I have been busy.... honestly I have. Trouble is, doing things not railway connected, you know, boring things like household repairs and maintenance! But... I have managed to sneak in a new build which is progressing slowly but surely. For a long time I have had a motor/gearbox unit which I attached...

That is a stunning piece of work Rik, the building has character but you have captured the texture and feel of the material so well it all looks completely convincing.

Re: Atlas Plymouth Chassis
Peter Butler is the man to ask as he has used one of the chassis under one of his creations. Only too pleased to help Jim... This chassis was a gift from Big Jim for me to modify... IMG_4598.JPG My solution was to build this... IMG_4648.JPG The loco itself weighs 1.496 Kg. To test its pulling power...
