Re: New Accucraft Loco Dolgoch
I think you may be right about being a market for two suppliers. Accucraft have not been as successful as they might in delivering promised batches on time or on predicted price, this may be due to circumstances out of their control. Perhaps a smaller supplier may have more success? I agree that the...

Re: New Accucraft Loco Dolgoch
They are not the only ones to announce a model of Dolgoch: https://www.thetraindepartment.com/ttd-locomotive-productions/dolgoch/ Jay from The Train Dept in the US has announced his version as well. There appear to be a few issues regarding Accucraft's announcement and accusations of underhand deali...

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?
Oooh nice. I has better bring my Tin Turtle over to pose with it. I think the boxes at the end are a bit of an enigma. Roy C. Link's book describes them as "a curiously inaccessible lidded box". They may have been a misguided attempt at storage space as they held twelve stretchers stacked ...

Re: Russell on the WHR
Funnily enough I was just thinking that a trip up to the frozen north might be a good idea.
I have a course next April that will see me in Bangor for three days. I wonder if it will be noticed if I go but fail to attend any of the sessions and clear off to the WHR instead?

Re: The Coverdale Light Railway
Looks like a good sized area for the railway and should not be too much of a challenge.

Re: 0-8-0/2-8-2 minimum radius
I think you may be right with the bit about the 4ft curves.
The line at the local ME club has a curve of around 36" radius and my RH Russell does get around it but it is obviously too small for the loco despite plain center driving wheels.

Re: Some late fall renovations and putting the line to bed
This is not something I have to worry about yet. The only winter prep that happens for the PMR is to turn the heater in the shed onto frost protection.
It is nice to hear that plans for an extension are already in hand.

Re: Flexible track
I have now tried! Not entirely successful. https://quilkin.co.uk/shared/bender.jpg The track runs between the brass and the plastic flanged wheels. It does bend the track a little, but the force required is too much for rather feeble Meccano bearings (not visible in the photo is the fact that all t...

Have a chat with Simon at Anything Narrow Gauge, he often has a selection of 2nd hand RTR and built up kits/scratchbuilt rolling stock.

Re: Another level crossing incident on a preserved line
We had a "Stupid Motorist Law" in Arizona. Basically, if you put yourself in harm's way you footed the bill for getting rescued. The AZ state legislature finally got sick of paying for rescuing tourists who ignore 'Do Not Enter' signs at flooded fords - etc., etc. - and decided that the A...

Another level crossing incident on a preserved line
I am glad that no one was hurt.
However it appears that another wally failed to heed the warning lights.
This is why the UK needs a "Being B@@@dy Stupid Act"
