Re: Video editing tutorial

I'am afraid that's what all the mobile phones companies do, it's par for the course unfortunately. It's mainly because the tech gets better and better and the updates can't keep up with them, that's why they have updates I think for that reason and so they then decide that they won't give out update...

Re: Peckforton Light Railway - Video Library

Rod, there was a discussion about the motor block here: https://gardenrails.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=14285 I think that might have been the video and discussion that finally got me to join the forum! Yes I have seen that Drew before, thank you for reminding me. I will take a browse at it ...

Re: Peckforton Light Railway - Video Library

Thanks Rik. I will have a look at it, maybe I could utilise a different motor. No harm in printing it off with 32mm in mind. I just need to reduce the end buffers don't I.. :thumbright:

Re: Peckforton Light Railway - Video Library

Brilliant video Rik again. Have you a file on that chassis you made with the big motor and more details on it, or is there a separate thread. Lost touch has you know mate, but I am slowly getting back to normal now, still having to pace myself though. 1,000,000 Blog viewers Rik, that's awesome. I ha...

Re: BM&LO No. 1

Hi Miles, You could make your running gear gauge adjustable, I have a Roundhouse Billy and if I went to someplace that had 45mm I would just adjust the wheels to 45mm with gauges you can get very cheaply online. I know you are scratch building and I really admire that, but there is nothing stopping ...

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

I love it Peter. It's brilliant, wouldn't want to put all of that drawing in though...it would take me 3 years at least to finish it..

May I suggest something though Peter if I may. Put some coal dirt by the boiler and around the floor, it far to clean mate. :dontknow:

Re: BM&LO No. 1

Hello Miles and :welcomeconfetti to the best Forum on the internet. I really like your enthusiasm and such a young age talking like a proper engineer with some outstanding ideas. Have you looked at how the De-Winton's operate, they have vertical boilers and are gas powered. They are a few members on...

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

Blooming heck Peter, it's taken me ages to read and take in all the work you have done, at least two days of reading and looking in awe of your work again Peter. Why on earth do I take so long to make anything and when I do it's now where near has good as yours. Those builds of the wagons are just f...

I think it doesn't matter how old the thread or post is really, the question was put 'Why do we do it' If the post by dudeface is what got him into garden railways it really ok to post old threads or posts don't you think. I haven't got anything against anyone on the forum, it's personal choice in w...

How do I start to say how much I am so appreciative of all of your support, it is heart warming to say the least. I have missed the forum and as you all know the banter and general warm welcome we all get from members is far better than all the rest of the forums I have had dealings with. This is th...

Large needle works for me, but then it's whatever works for you Phil. It's always good to try things out, although I don't relish doing those things, my eyesight is getting worse and sometimes I miss the point of the needle onto them and they go flying away never to be seen again..

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

They have lasted a long time though Peter, most I have seen seem to be damaged in some way. Don't you think garages and other buildings that have some sort of exhaust smoke from petrol and diesel vehicles and smoke from steam engines, dirty up glass in the real world. When I worked at the exhaust fa...

I am really impressed with your progress Phil and with the help of the master builder, Peter, you have got the beginnings of a line that anyone would be proud of. I certainly would be. :thumbright:

Need to try and come and visit when we get around to visiting Peter next year sometime.

That is neat Drew. Are you not going to have a rake of them, they would look good with about 6 or more. Next year perhaps... :dontknow: Thanks Rod. Just trying to focus on the earthworks and pond setup and (someday) laying the track down. Once it gets too cold to work in the garden I plan to get ba...

Re: Nolwyn Valley Tramway

I spent some time building the back wall of the raised bed today, and emptied the rainwater out of the ponds so I can get them into level position and put in the plumbing for the waterfall and filter. At this rate trackbed will probably have to wait until at least the spring, but maybe I can get in...
