The amount of 'finishing' puts me off a little..
That, and the 1:1 screws fixing things together. - They just 'jar' with me.

I like they have kept the works plates of 794 on the loco..
After all, it is a monument to the service of both locomotives.

I like the concept of magnetic couplings. - I did try something similar for power connections between vehicles.
For actual couplings, I have not found a way to uncouple automatically, without an enormous electromagnet. - I may be looking at the problem from the wrong angle (as it were)?

Whilst I to like the idea of the line disappearing behind / under the upper pond: You will need substantial foundations (and support) if the pond is not to mive/settle. It might be an idea to have an opening (or the back open) of the tunnel, with 'pedestrian access' around the back? - Does not have ...

Re: Gearbox motor
Personally, I think slow is 'better'..
You can use a larger gear on the motor output, and something smaller on the axle. - Even gear-up the speed, then use bevel-gears for the final drive.
It should make it quieter. But that all depends how quiet the original motor /gears are?

I'm thinking of moving to Deltang, the locoremote is a good system, it works well, the only down side is needing to look at the phone screen to adjust the speed. What are users thoughts on the Deltang system, pros and cons, thanks? David Bear in mind that I used to make and sell Deltang transmitter...

Not sure where the pivot point is, in relation to axles on your bogies?
These really need to be (at least) inside the innermost axles for weight distribution and traction. - That is 'inside the wheelbase of the bogies.
You know doubt realise this..

Re: Bullfrog Snot
Just remember it is 'better' to slip, than to stall, your loco..
I have had customers weight a loco, to the point where it will stall (rather than spin the wheels) and complained when they discovered the stall-current of their motor smokes the output transistors of their speed controller.

Re: Bullfrog Snot
Can it be applied to the railhead, you ask?
Well, yes it can.. But it will probably not stick well to dirty rail?
It is a plastic, so it is not conductive. - I assume you are dead-rail?
If not, then apply to a pair of wheels (one axle) and see if it helps.

I think the last two photos show match trucks converted from Shunters wagons?
It would make sense, to use an existing set of drawings, with the addition of the 'dolly' for the jib.

Hi Ben,
Get yourself (build?) a simple diesel outline kit, battery-powered, with or without RC..
This is 45mm but no reason you can't get 'something' running outside, without too much effort:

Isn't it cheating a bit?
Would a finer taper on the regulator-valve help?
That and flat wagons, each with a brick on them..

The new(?) IP Engineering 'Danny'
Would anyone have bought one of these? There is mention on the IP site of 'new' materials being used, and the electrics (battery box and switch, I assume) being supplied. A customer is considering buying one, and wants a receiver for it, but there is no indication of the motor used, or battery size ...

It can be dead easy to add a battery car to a LGB loco, as many have an auxiliary socket on the back.. If you are fully dead-rail, with just one loco on the track, you don't even need to remove the pickups. - Do remove them eventually, unless you want to switch between track-power and battery. You a...
