Re: Gmeinder & Co loco
Thanks Rik, I'd not seen that specific pic, but there are loads of variations on the theme. It's the little plaque and apparent picture that puzzle me. TBH, I don't really want to put it on unless there is a good reason to, and I suspect that this is maybe referring to a wartime death somehow associ...

Re: Ooops! - I have bought this
So... I have eventually got to run the 'Anna', and I am smitten! She ran impeccably, easy to control, everyone present enjoyed seeing a 'heritage' loco run, and if I had wanted to, I think I could have sold her to a number of those present? Well done Phil. Glad she worked out ok. I can sympathise w...

Re: Gmeinder & Co loco
I'm working towards the end of this one now! Firstly, my normal fixation about colour, isn't too much of a prob this time.  I have 4 choices: Lightish grey and rust, as per the original picture, Heavy rust and an assortment of other colours as per the latest picture, or take it back to it...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card
Just to update on this, from my POV. I've been in discussions with Andy because I had to get him to reprogram it before when I couldn't, and thought he might have some insight on what I've been doing wrong. It has been more and more unexpected things and not accepting inputs. Eventually we went righ...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card
Can you borrow a prog 4 to programme it with, or borrow a different TX, like a TX20? I have a Prog4 but it no longer works with the serial cables/Coolterm.. it's all obsolete. Nobody I know within half a days journey to borrow from ( I think you are about the nearest! ) unfortunately and it'...

Re: Gmeinder & Co loco
Now there is a challenge for the weathering experts! A little sad, when the custodians of heritage let it rot, but I suppose there is only some much time, money, and man-hours? Phil.P All true, plus, I suspect, being basically an aircraft museum, they aren't overly bothered about an old German dies...

Re: Gmeinder & Co loco
I'm fairly happy with the overall proportions, but I've been a bit bothered about the actual dimensions and I've juggled them around several times. I even tried to make contact with the museum to ask, but there has been no response at all, which was a bit disappointing. Anyway I think I've settled ...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card
Is this the same for all prog4's? I was going to use mine just the other day, I had it bound up with coolterm but wasn't sure what programming I needed, in the end I was lucky and it didn't need programming. This is what I wrote back in 2022 on my Austro Daimler build thread: GTB wrote: ↑Sun, 09 Oc...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card
You should be able to work out the version you have, from the numbers written on the chip. Can't leave it alone, despite what I said yesterday - frustration speaking! Yesterday evening I managed to find the little leaflet that came with it originally and that says it is version 5.20. I've been thro...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card
Phil(lipy) You can give me a ring if you like, but it appears you are doing things correctly, but this particular receiver does not want to play? Phil.P Thanks Phil, but I've wasted enough time on this @~?%!! for something that isn't that important in the grand scheme of things, I've done little el...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card
Moving the direction switch to the "forward" position should increment the fashing by one flash. So, if it flashes once, clicking the direction switch forward should make it flash twice, clicking it forward again should increase it to three. Is that what you mean by "input 3"? R...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card
You should be able to work out the version you have, from the numbers written on the chip. I bought it brand new from Andy in Sept 2022, but there are no numbers written on the chip. I know the Rx65b had the version handwritten in gold, but this is the 41d and appears to be different in that respect.

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card
OK, progress of sorts, I think. 1) Tx 22 in program mode, that is fine. 2) Rx 41d-22-v5 in program mode, seems to be Ok but...( I'll come back to that in a sec) 3) Tried to set it to 3,2,1,1, but not sure that it has actually accepted it. 4) Connect everything up, and motor runs fine and sound is on...

Re: Gmeinder & Co loco
With filament you wouldn't get the same level of detail, for certain, but I'm not sure just how much you would actually lose. In due course, I'll probably upload the stl's on here, so you could try printing one of the front bonnet sides by itself and see if it works and whether you think it worth go...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card
Thanks Phil. I'm in S. Northants, but neither of those exhibs are an option I'm afraid, but I appreciate the thought. Now that I have an idea what I'm aiming at I'll have another play at it myself when I have a spare minute, it isn't urgent. Having looked at your 3,2,1,1 on the programming table, I ...

Re: Gmeinder & Co loco
The resin all looks beautifully crisp. I must resume the struggle with my resin printer, if the rewards might be anything like that kind of quality! Crisp enough? :D IMG_0728.jpg The 'elephants foot' effect is due to being printed flat on the bed, but a couple of file strokes will soon sort that

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card
Phil, Rik,
Sorry, being a bit thick now. I kind of know what you mean by "follow P1" but I don't understand what that means in practice? David T's programming instructions are difficult enough for the 65b but for the 41d they are completely impenetrable.
