Re: HGLW loco tweak

£45 each for the loco and MR603,is £90. A tenner for batteries, and other electronics.. So £25 for the build/paint. Seems a fair price? - I would expect it could have been put together in a couple of hours, if you cracked-on? There seem to be a number of EvilBay sellers who I think like building, an...

Re: HGLW loco tweak

Rik PS Very noisy mechanism, Mr Regner ..... I think some of that, may be due to the speed controller? SW (amazingly) said she liked one of the Regner centre-cab loco's which was in a member to member sale, so I was allowed to purchase it. - The fact it had been converted to battery by Graha...

Don't need a sound system?

I suppose you could animate the driver's arm, to ring a bell?

You wait ages....... And then: IMG_20240207_165748.jpg Phil.P Go for it Phil.... they would look perfect back-to-back. Unfortunately, neither of these two are mine.. Both are to be 'breathed upon'. - Pickup problems on one, and the chassis of the other is suffering from 'mazac rot', so I am having ...

Not sure if this will work? https://gardenrails.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7945 Both Chris and Mike are still around on the Forum, and this was 2013. - So I would assume any changes have been made? If the Brunel is still slop-eccentric, then you can't reverse it without the 'hand of god'. - Though I ...

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

Having been an Independent Newspaper Roundsman, I have looked it up:
It appears to be a quarterly publication, £9.95.

Came out in October, and goes off-sale in March..

Re: eBay madness

There seemed to be a marked rise in prices for s/h LGB towards the end of last year.. Where as I was seeing items go for perhaps £80-90 they are now going for circa £120.00. This does mean a better 'return on investment' for those I am presently holding, but finding replacements is becoming harder. ...

Re: Semi-scale BR: The Modernisation Plan

That looks rather nice! Obviously 'modern' as it has a welded tender (no rivets). I think it would look good pulling the present Caledonian sleeper stock? So, who is clever enough with PhotoShop, to put it into blue/grey, arrows of indecision livery? I only ask, as an exercise, you understand.. Anyo...

Re: Bridge 10ft span

Very nice, but it would not fit in the car. - I have actually spent a few minutes checking..

Sensibly, 'a bridge too far' unfortunately..

I even considered enquiring about a man in a van.. But only for a moment.

Re: Identifying source of loco

It does look like the two don't go together..

I wonder if the body is 'new old stock' from a closed-down supplier?

I might bring it to Stoneleigh, and see if anyone recognises it.. :dontknow:

Re: Identifying source of loco

The body looks too good to be scratch built by the same person who built(?) the chassis/under frame?

I am wondering if it is a 'commercial' body, which has had different fixings used to try to make it more 'realistic'. - Crosshead screws on a roof look naff, to me.

I am not sure anybody is ready for that! - The alignment of parts leaves something to be desired.

Those of a fragile disposition, should look away now!

Re: Sam small layout

Certainly enough to provide a little variety.

You do realise, that once you have enough track to play, the building tends to slow down a great deal?
