Now that's an interesting piece of rolling stock David. :D
Thanks for posting the pictures.

Peter, after quite a bit of my own research I haven't found anything of significance either so apart from the odd corrugated iron roof on a van or a workman's coach I'm going to forget all about it. ;)

I love your shed, - it's one of the nicest ones I've seen. Of course I'm biased having been an LSWR modeller in coarse scale 0 gauge at one time :D

The photos in the station area are lovely and very atmospheric. I particularly like the station building.

Love that shade of green.

Lovely. Watching two sets of valve gear in motion at low speed is almost hypnotic.

Quite a while ago I started to build a tramway coach in 7/8th scale and it's been hanging around unfinished for ages. So I thought I would cut it down to suit the scale I'm presently working in. I had a flirt with 7/8th and 1/12th when I was making up my mind over scales, but settled back with 5/8ths or 16mm as it's the best compromise for an indoor layout. I have a feeling that the models I'm making at the moment might be closer to 11/16ths scale, but that's Ok.

It's 45mm for me too since most of the narrow gauge tramways in the district where I live were 2ft 9". As Dave has said most Kiwis run 45mm gauge which definitely makes life easier for layout visits. Even though I'm an ex 0 gauge modeller when it came to moving over to 16mm scale I found 45mm t...

A magnetic man for pushing mine carts.

I remember seeing somewhere recently a 16mm horse set up for drawing mine carts and I thought that was very clever. Then somewhere else I saw a model of a working incline that used rare earth magnets under the track to draw the mine carts up the hill. This has set me thinking as to whether it would ...

http://i883.photobucket.com/albums/ac31/SanctaRosa5/Railway%20Modelling/Kotanga%20Tramway/KVPostholeMineBMP_zpsijmvxcvs.png So I tried out Anyrail and amazingly it has Lego track in its library. As you can see the mine layout is very simple. There's a steep hillside behind the buildings and all of ...

http://i883.photobucket.com/albums/ac31/SanctaRosa5/Railway%20Modelling/Kotanga%20Tramway/MineSmall_zpsoqeq8let.jpg There's quite a bit of woodwork and messing around before I'll have the main layout boards for the Kotanga Tramway in place, but after working on converting my old Baguley IC loco mod...

Annie, a laser cutter will set you back at least USD 3000. Do not be tempted to buy one of the cheap lasers from Ebay. They are cheap for a reason. High failure rate and terrible software. I'm on my 4th laser cutter so have some experience with them. Thanks for the warning, - it's much appreciated....

I just thought I'd do some checking about with regard to track.  Checking with suppliers webpages in China it looks like Enlighten isn't making their brown plastic track anymore.  Possibly Lego may have sued them for making stuff that was too close a match for their own.  When Sluban released their ...

My ruler says 38mm for the gauge of Lego track Barry. The track in the photos is by Sluban who makes a Lego clone/compatible railway series. The Sluban loco can't pull the skin off rice pudding and is a bit flimsy. I have a couple and they used to look ok parked by the loco shed on the Lego layout I...
