Re: Wadebridge Light Railway

Hi all, I have reached a dilemma over coach livery  . I picked up some unfinished IP engineering roundhouse coaches second hand and I am currently painting them in WDLR livery. I know what colours to use but I don't know what pattern to use. I have been experimenting with the coach colours ...

Re: Wadebridge Light Railway

I like the look of the concrete mix. Have you included some budgie grit to get that finish? Rik It is a mix of sharp sand and cement in the ratio 4:1. There is no budgie grit in it - the sharp sand used has some grit in it already. The sand is Kelkay build mate sharp sand and was picked up at my lo...

Re: Wadebridge Light Railway

Hi all, Thank you for your comments. I may have confused some of you as I haven't built any of these wagons over the weekend-I have only painted them  . I have had these wagons sat on a shelf for a few months waiting to be bought into service. Moving on, here are some photos of the halt. The r...

Re: Wadebridge Light Railway

Hi all, I have been busy over the weekend with the railway. On the Saturday I re painted some secondhand stock to the appropriate livery of my railway (humbrol 64) and pressed them into service with a steam up on Sunday Morning. In the afternoon I finished making St Kew platform and the level crossi...

Re: Wadebridge Light Railway

A bit of progress yesterday, I have finally got round to making the platform at St Kew Highway. It is made of concrete and reflects many narrow gauge lines as it is only level with the top of the sleepers. There will be a water tower, lamp hut, station building, benches etc on it once I get round to...

Re: Wadebridge Light Railway

One thing that certainly impresses me with your railway is the nice neat edges between the trackbed and the grass. If that was in my garden the blackbirds would have thrown half of the ballast onto the grass in their search for food and the cat would have dislodged the remainder as he used it as a ...

Re: Wadebridge Light Railway

There is still a lot of work to do but at least the line is up and running. I will post more about the lines fictional history in a later post.
Thank you for all the comments.

Re: Wadebridge Light Railway

Here is a link for a video of my Dads cheddar Iver: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_D6CKEMIYM8 Over the course of this year I have been busy extending the railway. A much larger loop (still small) has been constructed around the garden and joins up to the circle of track seen in previous posts. Thi...

Andrew, that area of the railway has changed significantly over the past year, you will be able to see the change in upcoming photos. In the meantime, check out me youtube (Wadebridge Light Railway Company) to see some videos of my line. Thank you for your kind comments

Wadebridge Light Railway

Hi all, I am relatively new to the hobby and forum. In late 2016, after about a year and a half of initial ideas and planning, construction started on my first garden railway! Track gauge was decided to be 32mm to a scale of 16mm to the foot. The track would be peco sm32 laid on a floating trackbed ...
