Hi, Thanks so much for your lovely comment. We always try and make these little videos the very best we can as we have lots of family and younger viewers who look forward to our next video.  Hope you visit us again soon. I particularly like the idea that I might be one of your 'younger' viewers, ha...

Excellent result of a well thought out and superbly built model.
You really can't tell what material it is made from and it makes no difference to its ability to do the job it was designed for!
What's next????

Thanks Big Jim, and thanks again for helping out with the return of the Diplock trophy! It's a good job I didn't enter the competition this year as the winner was way ahead interpreting the rules to the limit! I am in deep admiration of the loco with square wheels concept and bow to a superior model...

Lovely station, cars are nice too, other projects..... MOTY? Thanks bazzer, there are so many projects in the pipeline I don't know which to begin first! As for MOTY..... as you know I managed to come home with the Gordon Diplock Trophy last year but thought I would give this year's show a miss. It...

On Thursday 17th April 2014, the B.U.R.P.S. aquired its first steam locomotive. This is a Roundhouse 'Billy' built from one of their Modular Systems. The loco was made by a very good friend only a year ago and barely run-in. I know the history of this engine and it is also good to know the maker has...

SVL Andrew, in answer to your question about the track, it is important to remember this is on an indoor exhibition layout which a small team (only 3 of us) built about 35 years ago and has done dozens of shows and thousands of miles of journeys before ending its travelling days with me. We had on o...

Thanks for the tip DVT. Early days yet for me to make comparisons. I was just pleased to see the item on the shelf so bought it without shopping around. It's all a learning curve for me, and no doubt others just entering the 'dark side' of the hobby. My next job will be to buy the Roundhouse kit to ...

Been out shopping today and found suitable gas at our local Wilkinsons... (we have them all here!) Selling at £2.50 each or two for £4.00 (bargain!) This is the type of can with a push-fit nozzle not screw, so fits the adaptor I already have. The ebay screw fit item seems worth having too as an alte...

Thanks Al and DVT Dweller, most helpful info for a new boy like me. I'm sure this is stating the obvious to more experienced users but for late starters like myself it is a whole new world. Al..... we do have a Range store here in Carmarthen (not on the edge of the universe by any means!) so I will ...

Thanks Al, I am looking forward to 'playing trains' after all! There is some help I need as I have no experience of live steam.... The loco came with gas which will need replacing, so where would you suggest I shop for butane? Also, I need to buy a new filler adaptor so, again, which type should I b...

An April Loco

Since Christmas I have been posting about my builds, either locos (electric) or rolling stock. I also mentioned that April might be a rather special occasion and produce something special..... It's arrived at last..... that is, April, my 65th Birthday (today) and the special Loco..... ./myff/1736747...

Well done for your work so far. You have made a very good start and seem to know what you are doing.
The fence is nice and tidy too although I suspect you have small dogs which don't jump! My Springers would be over there in a flash!
