Re: LITTLE VAN FOR FWLR

Rod, now that I'm finally getting around to copying you, do you happen to know the approximate dimensions of this or the other one you posted recently? I think I made mine too big and it's hiding the cute wheels under the side overhang. Mine ended up 3½"W x 4½"L x 4½"H for just the b...

Re: Stuart's occasional rolling stock thread - Bachmann streetcar conversion

Thanks guys The FR buffer is more for show and emergency bumping really, as the actual coupling will be by a swinging clevis underneath - like the Corris coaches. I would like to move the bogies further out, but a combination of the severe tumblehome and me removing a slice of the body means that th...

Re: Stuart's occasional rolling stock thread - Bachmann streetcar conversion

I had some time at the start of summer to make a start on the Bachmann tram conversion. Here's the inspiration, from the short-lived Plynlimon & Hafan Tramway:- https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw5wia6z2qzv7xVZK_RY2AP6BuXOTT10ZLNXUbwmoY4xPxFzznNnzF_4Q1xVp5rTiU0dQ8gUA8ro...

Re: The (Windmill Hill) Welsh Highland Railway

At Clarach, for some reason (because I don't actually have a quarry, perhaps??!) So time to stop messing about with fancy observation cars for the pampered public, and get yourself a quarry built and properly generate some revenue!!  I am sometimes tempted to flog Russell, the Baldwin et...

Looking very nice.
Personally I like them in maroon, but in your period I reckon they probably would have Stephens green. Rule 1 applies though!

I haven't used one, but there is also the Boot Lane Works chassis:

I'm sure you could replace the motor with a similarly sized 12v one if desired.

Re: Stuart's occasional loco thread - Brush Battery Electric Loco

I started this project before Christmas but then the modelling mojo abandoned me for a while so I've only just finished it off. This is the excellent Loco Remote kit ( https://www.locoremote.co.uk/3dprints.html ) for the Brush Battery Electric Locos supplied to the Ministry of Supply during WWI. The...

Re: Playing with model steam locomotives in 1989

I remember seeing the layout around the local shows - I always liked the overall roof at the station. I had forgotten about Toucan completely though!
