My daughter and I just made this movie yesterday evening; it was fun to play with a kiddo in the garden; it was steaming hot, though. The weather was nearly 100F.

RC Amtrak
I took advantage of the long weekend to wire the RC system for the Amtrak train this morning. I like the design of this train, very easy to work with, and it is spacious. This is how it looks in the test run.

major improvement in the garden
After nearly 10 years into the garden railway, we felt much better to chop off 2 large trees right outside of the fence. They split easily during windy days and thus unsafe. And during the winter, a huge amount of leaves that damage the wood fence and of obviously we spent a lot of effort to clean a...

what to do with this PIKO locomotive?
This Piko locomotive was my first one when I started to enter this hobby nearly 10 years ago. Now, the wheels are gone, but the motor and the gears are still there. I wonder if there is any way to give it new LGB wheelsets? or I have to buy the whole LGB gearbox? I am a bit confused now about how to...

Spring movie
The weather was cold and wet in the past 2 weeks. Today, the weather improvedd a lot; so, I decided to clean the garden railway. There are so many wet leaves around, very messy and dirty. After that, I re-glued some of the figures and made this movie.

Re: new jigstone building
That must have taken ages to cast all the individual components. Presumably you had the mix the resin in very small batches. I suppose the upside is that the resin will set more quickly than concrete. Looks great. I like the mullioned window frames. Rik Rik, Yes, resin heals quicker than concrete. ...

Re: Ludwig Gross Betriebe Werkslok battery conversion
Sorry, don't know your name? Have you connected wires directly to the motor, and have bypassed all the other wiring? I ask as the LGB wiring convention is that white and brown are track, and green and yellow are motor. You do not want any connection's to the wheels or skates (if fitted). - You do n...

Re: Ludwig Gross Betriebe Werkslok battery conversion
This loco appears from the linked diagram to have a 3-wire motor - block. This means that on one side the motor and track connections are tied together within the motor-block. You would normally isolate the motor and track connections from each other. This means adding an extra wire for the second ...

Re: Ludwig Gross Betriebe Werkslok battery conversion
Your engine is an LGB 20620. If you want to see a blow up diagram of all your engines parts, it may help in locating the points/places you want to disassemble. To see those diagrams go to "trainli.com" and look at their LGB Parts PDF's. Then scroll down to your engine number "20620&q...

Re: Ludwig Gross Betriebe Werkslok battery conversion
I don't have any experience of that particular loco, but I have converted a Stainz loco using the socket on the back. Although the socket was connected to the onboard circuit board, it did feed directly to the motor. I have no idea how your loco is wired up. It might be worthwhile connecting a volt...

Ludwig Gross Betriebe Werkslok battery conversion
I tried to open up the LGB Ludwig Gross Betriebe Werkslok locomotive so I can have direct access to the motor for conversion to battery-run. However, I found it is very challenging; if someone has some photos of how to do this please share them with me. Meanwhile, I am certain that the socket behind...

Re: Trouble with steam engine-need help
To me, it simply sounds like the gauge doesn't work, I had an Accucraft loco do this, I simply got it replaced, you can try cleaning it of course before spending money :thumbleft: Other than that, the safety valve works, that's good and you over filled it, lesson learnt. Even without the gauge it s...

Re: New layout for Christmas.
Very detailed work, thanks for sharing. It's true around this time of the year I always want to do something with my railway, so it's not early, it's just the right mood for the work.Tony Bird wrote: ↑Fri Nov 20, 2020 5:05 pm Hi,
A bit early I know.
