Re: epoxy polymer resin
In the past, I bought polymer resin to make the buildings, it was great. But I didn't have a record of what kind of polymer. Recently, I bought epoxy resin and I was disappointed because when the structure is placed outdoors under the heat of ~ 80F, it became softer. The structure collapsed because...

New layout
After 10 years, it took some courage to redesign the railway layout. I have been planning for many years, but no time to make it realization. In the past, the elevated system was separated from the ground level, two trains could run separately. But I rarely have two trains running at the same time. ...

Re: Need some idea with a water tower
I am building a water tower for my department's art show, which will be next month. This is my own design idea. The water tank is made of PVC material and the rest of the frame is made of metal pipes. I got all the raw materials from Home Depot. But I feel that I need a safeguard fence surrounding ...

Re: Need some idea with a water tower
Quite like that water tower. Looks sturdy too, can't go wrong. 8) I was also gonna say something like snake mesh. I used some for a railing around a mill chimney years ago, I just cut out every other square with side cutters and cleaned up the burrs with a dremel. 20431294_1654345477955768_31098106...

Re: Need some idea with a water tower
In keeping with the Home Depot repurposed materials theme, how about getting some square metal mesh of a suitable size ( garden mesh, or even a barbeque grid) and cuttting a strip which you then wrap around the gallery level of your water tower? That's a good idea; I will walk around Home Depot thi...

Re: soundcards for scenic effects
I'm always horrified by the price of these (£40) - but then I suppose you're paying for the convenience of having someone to gather and edit the sound files and put them into the MP3 player. Being a bit of a cheapskate, I prefer to do it myself (for a fraction of the cost). https://youtu.be/OGV1m1A...

soundcards for scenic effects
Big holidays are coming, so it's time to plan a few projects. I am making a jigstone building for my boss this year. I wonder if someone could remind me where to get the soundcard for scenic effects, like sounds from a train platform for animal sounds, etc. I usually bought these in the past, but I ...

Re: signal controller circuit
I want to have the circuit detect the train motion and then turn the lights on, with 3 colors red yellow then green. Ah. That's a whole different kettle of fish. You can quite easily construct and program something to do that with Arduino or Pickaxe, but that requires some knowledge of electronics ...
