Re: Using TinkerCAD to produce drawings for 3-D Printing

I didn't know that either  Very handy to know as the fillet is for me, the one essential thing missing from TinkerCad. There's loads of features that make designing a lot easier in 360. However TC does have aspects that are faster and simpler to use, so using both seems ideal if you're not a ...

Re: Using TinkerCAD to produce drawings for 3-D Printing

I didn't know that. The one thing that's certain is that there's more we don't know than we do. Even something as ostensibly simple as Tinkercad has features that most people don't explore. After years with TC, last month I tried the 'send to' command to send a file to Fusion. Revelation; The curve...

Re: HGLW loco tweak

Very nice all round Rik, it's so far removed from the original loco you purchased. Personally I like the diesel sound you have, it certainly sounds better then my on desk version, not bad for such a cheap sound card

Re: Using TinkerCAD to produce drawings for 3-D Printing

Yes you do have to store your drawings online and you can only have 10 active drawings at one time unless you purchase the software, Sorry, but that's wrong. You can export drawings in their native format and keep them on your local system and then re-load and continue to work on them. It's just no...

Re: What filler?

I posted a similar question just a few months ago and followed up on a suggestion from Rik and bought 'Perfect Plastic Putty'. My findings are that it does what it says on the tube! .... A smooth, one-part, fine paste which is easy to apply with a spatula. Designed for use on fine grained gaps and ...

What filler?

I have been trying quite a few different types of filler for finishing the surface of 3D prints. Everything from body filler to balsa filler. I have found the following: Balsa filler : Light but a bit grainy to apply, sands very easily, if not too easily and can pull out again. Body filler : A bit s...

I guess the idea is you could use it as an isolating track, if you wanted to.

Re: Using TinkerCAD to produce drawings for 3-D Printing

I've had two goes at Fusion 360, yesterday and this morning, with no more success than I had a year or so ago, Fusion 360 is the gold standard for 3D CAD packages for home use, but it's a bit naïve to think that a program so incredibly powerful can be learnt in a couple of short sessions or just pl...

Again, same from me, thank you. They look very complete and I will find the time to have a good read through and try and ammend the figure I have in mind.

Re: FINAL NEW FWLR LINE

Looking at the kit I would think that it has not had air assist running while the laser was cutting. Air assist tends to reduce the burn/charring to a minimum. Having recently aquired a laser cutter I now know how essential air assist is a what a major impact it has to the final results.

Once I got the hang of it, it was quite easy and potentially opens all sorts of possibilities for posing figures. If anyone wants to know how to do it, just shout. Also yes please, I have a figure that I would love to be able to move the arm on it into a different position but have absolutely no cl...

Re: Not sure why motor keeps cutting out.

Thanks for the suggestions Drewzero & Steves. I've googled 280 size motors and the existing motor size is exacxtly that - its a tight fit so no other size would do. I can only find a higher voltage motor at 12 -24 volts so excuse my ignorance on electrical matters but I assume that would work w...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card

I must say that Andy has been very clever in finding a way to put the Rx into programming mode. As well as the Deltang method, the MR603 can go into program mode by tapping in SOS in morse code on the bind button. Clever chap! Ril Indeed, that's the method I use, I thought it was a great idea too :...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card

You can supposedly tweak the servo range on the 65c, though I have never tried it.. It might be easier to wait, and see how it reacts, with the MR603? Phil.P I can answer that, it works perfectly with the MR603c. I borrowed one which had a later version on it and it has Pad 1 setup as a servo on CH...
