Well, it looks like its most likely going to be the Ditton Meadow Light Railway. DMLR. That means I can have a Granchester station or any of the famous little places round here, lol :D

Thank you for everyones input :D

A little steam up

My dad and myself had a little steam up on his new track. Loved it myself, great line and awesome weather. Here are a few pictures from the day. I hope you like them. http://i617.photobucket.com/albums/tt253/stevesuzi/IMG_3317.jpg http://i617.photobucket.com/albums/tt253/stevesuzi/IMG_3316.jpg http:...

Where on earth did those dual scale points come from? I have been after some of those since deciding to build a railway some 5 years ago and never found any :( They were built by a Butterley member especially for the job, and thay were PIGS! I was thinking they had to be hand built. I don't suppose...

POLL: Naming my new line??

Following on from my post about my start of my build regarding my first garden railway with no name, a separate post has been raised out of that post regarding the naming of the railway. So I have put up a poll and suggestion for the name of the railway. Suggestions are very welcome as its been real...

There is a meadow just down the road, which even this land was once part of, called Ditton Meadow. So with that in mind, I guess it could be called Ditton Meadow Light Railway, so many options coming to light here, really do appreciates everyone's input :)

Can people let me know how they chose names for there railways and what their inspirations were for doing so as I am really stuck on that one at the moment. I just never thought the  TARR  (Temporary and Random Railway) cut it, lol My original station is situated under an Elder tree and in the autu...

I like it Steve; sounds like a cross between a Welsh and an Indian line - food for thought as regards alternative scenarios? It does doesn't it. I quite like the idea of a welsh railway, that goes between 2 highland villages into a mine, would give me an excuse for both gauges that way too :) Not s...

Good luck with the build Steve, once you have few feet of track laid it becomes a great inspiration to make further progress. I am sorry to learn of your wife's illness, and hope that the treatment is successful and that she makes a good recovery. As regards railway names; ours is not very original...

Best of luck with the build Steve, you've made a start so the end has just got a little bit closer. Grant. Thanks Grant. They do say making the start is the hardest bit, fortunately I have the full support of my better half who has been helpful with ideas and the amount of garden I can use as its g...

Most of the wood has now been purchased and will be treated this afternoon. The garden still needs lots of work before we can start putting posts in, but we will strip off the top layer of grass, weed screen the entire area, then start putting posts in, and finish it off with a slightly raised area ...

No name - Garden Railway

Hi This year I hope to build my first permanent garden railway. I have had 16mm for the last 5 years, but only ever used other peoples railways, the clubs and a temporary few bits of track laid on the grass on nicer days. The full details of the layout with pictures will be kept on to date here http...

I will be doing this very shortly with one of Rik's TX 24's and an RX102. Once I get the chance to swap it all over linkage wise I will post up how it goes. ;)

Is it possible to operate servo's using the TX22 transmitter and a deltang receiver?
If you use the RX-102 then they are a simple plug in. Its what I use with a TX24 for live steam engines.

Hi well I think the above post is potentially flawed in a few palces, in my opinion of course, as we are all entitled to those as per above. I think 45mm is more popular as many people come from Gauge 1 so already have the track so dont change it. Others model 2'6 and 3' which is a closer representa...
