Re: Gladstone Coach to Bush Tram Carriage
I’m well impressed with the fastidiously organised, methodical manner you go about your builds — which always look terrific. A lesson for us all. Well, particularly me.

Re: Semi-scale BR: The Modernisation Plan
Thanks for all the generous comments! "Lined black?" It certainly ought to be — but I'm afraid I’ve been toying with an alternative, I'll have to do some tests. '...clacks straddling the boiler top, along with suitable firebox-top pipework..." I’m treading on thin ice here, because (l...

The Cat keeps her enthusiasm under control regarding the arrival of a new addition to the fleet, possibly in view of its dubious authenticity. She’ll be expecting to feature in the video though.

Re: Semi-scale BR: The Modernisation Plan
Garratt_3375_800.jpg The whimsical ‘Light Garratt’: still missing leading and trailing axles at both ends It’s progressed a little further. I’ll admit I’d hoped to manage something with more (and more obvious) BR Standard ‘style cues’. And the central, boiler section doesn’t sit above the driving u...

The stone work is terrific — the paint finish is really effective (and I shall have to copy it)

I was just about to comment on yours: terrific, of course. Steves’s done a very nice NG16 too. We all get round to them eventually I believe…

Re: Semi-scale BR: The Modernisation Plan
Not even semi-scale BR: the inevitable Garratt At the fantasy, narrower gauge, British Railways there’s going to be an alarmingly freelance, Light Garratt(!) intended, I’m pretending, for those twisty, hilly, secondary routes — in the Highlands, Devon and Cornwall and the like. It’s been on the bac...

This has been a really interesting read. And the loco looks lovely. Really makes me appreciate the extraordinary scope of 3D design and print. Cutting up plasticard looking increasingly crude and clumsy!

Here’s its first go outside. This is more-or-less all I shot before it started raining again.
It does look a bit long for the garden’s curves but it will get round, slowly. You just have to be careful.

Re: Semi-scale BR: The Modernisation Plan
Thanks again, Rik. Sized the emblems in Photoshop and, along with the lining panels and numbers, printed it on to white, inkjet decal paper (artwork below), which can be cut as appropriate. Getting a decent result (matching the printed decal’s grey background to the grey paintwork), I have to say, w...
