I believe that frogs are supposed to be a good indicator of a healthy eco system, Peter. Your pond must be a good clean environment. I think there is a fairly high attrition rate with tadpoles and young frogs, specially if you have a good bird population.

Brasso, Silvo, and toothpaste are my three go to's for polishing, particularly clear acrylic (ie windows in modelling) I have large sheets of acrylic(Perspex) that are quite scratched, but find a quick polish with Brasso makes it brand new. I find Brasso the more coarse medium, with toothpaste the f...

Welcome back Peter, and good to see you have not been idle.  Having been involved in building maintenance, every time I see a slate roof on an elderly building in England (on Television when the baddie climbs to the roof to jump) I can't help thinking of roof drainage and the potential for water ent...

Hi Sandy,
Great photos once again. Have I seen the rail truck in the second pic. down on a certain railway that used to be down on the Mornington Peninsular?

Nice fine leaved background and low camera angle always helps to fool the eye. Great shot.

Funny how some loco pics. force you to have a second or third look. Guess it's a personal taste thing. River Tang caught my eye, proper cylinders (sorry don't like outside oscillators) would help, but a simple, attractive straight forward loco none the less.

Wow! Sandy pic. no.3 could well be Bendigo in real life. Even the trees and flowers look right, and the track running through one of the many park areas. I could very easily be swayed toward a tramway. Looking forward to more pics.

What absolutely fabulous pictures of a truly remarkable engine build, and superb train to go with it. Definitely looks like something Mr. Stephenson would have sketched before coming to his final design. If at all possible to see a video of it running, with all those rods and links, as Philip and To...

Great weathering job Jim, like the rolled up canvas on the sides. Just needs the chimney to set it off.

Hi Dave, fantastic work as usual. I could feel the tension using the hole saw to cut that dome hole (I would be very ready to reverse the handle on the drill feed). What will be the approx. size of the grate? you've certainly got enough tube area for what appears to be a very short grate. A freshly ...

The building looks as if it has grown as a real building would have, different materials, some painted, some not. Great work Michael, more atmosphere for your railway.

Would I be guessing that you are running on 32mm gauge, as I use 45mm gauge, I found clearance to be a problem between cylinders and axle boxes. I have 7ft 6" radius on my line, but points are sharper.

Wonderful buildings, and such detail. I too like the "TO LET" sign, and like Philip can't wait to see them in situ.

I do hope you find the time to re-build your garden railway, that wonderful loco truly deserves a railway to run on. I have always liked the Falcon 4-4-0's, and if I build a tender loco it would probably be one of those, although I had trouble with a four wheel truck with outside frames on my last l...

Certainly looks well used, and typical of the state many would be in. Did you make patterns, do you intend making some more to build up a train?
