Re: Otto bash
Thanks Rik, i have an airbrush mainly because trying to paint N Gauges models with a spray can is nigh on impossible, and after a while the cleaning and such is second nature, so would i be better keeping my painting to the airbrush or should i get cans, or both. I think i have answered my own quest...

Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway
Bit late sorry, I always build with 2.4mm rivets and stainless self tappers/ nuts and bolts. 100 bags of rivets are just over a quid at toolstation. They need a 2.5mm drill but you will need to wiggle clearance for the toolstation ones, others are fine. Thats good to know about Toolstation Thank yo...

Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway
Tom wouldn’t the ST-607 curve be a bit better to work with, i am guessing that would be 76” did, so a bit more to work with. :thumbright: Yes, these would be slightly better. I have 0-6-0 locos that run better on that radius curve but the middle wheels are flangeless. The geometry of the Peco ST-60...
Re: Otto bash
Great job so far Rik, i love your layout, the shot of the train through the trees reminds me when i was a kid ( Hold on i still am ) climbing trees and looking out over the railway line near us, not right on top though, but close enough. One question if i may Rik, why do you and most other members u...

Re: Recent Stuff on the FBGR
Very sorry Tom, i didn’t mean to hi-jack the thread, i was just replying to earlier post’s. But i do think most youngsters now are maybe a bit put off by the thinking that it’s an old man’s/persons hobby, how to get them involved in the hobby, i think the 16mm association may have part of the...

Tom wouldn’t the ST-607 curve be a bit better to work with, i am guessing that would be 76” dia, so a bit more to work with. :thumbright: By the way great layout, it has taken me 5-1/2 hours to read it, keep going off to watch your videos and links. I have something similar in mind. I may put a smal...

Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway
Hi Rod, I used Peco 605 set track curves although if space permits go for a larger radius. Trackshack are a good supplier of Peco track: http://www.track-shack.com/acatalog/Peco-ST-605-SM32-Track--Setrack-6-x-30--Radius-Curves-Peco-ST-605.html Thanks Tom, that is a great help. What the area of your...

Re: New Station Building
it does seem like a lot of money though Phillip, unless you have a lot to make on it, which i presume you have with a garden layout and the cost of making it yourself against shop bought must be a lot less and of course you can customise it to be unique to you, purely one off that no body else will...

Re: Recent Stuff on the FBGR
I agree Phillip with the photos, it is simplicity it self, maybe the easiest i have come across on forum’s, you can select quite a few photos at the same time, i did six i think all at once and took no time to load, but tried a video and it didn’t want to know, unless of course i load it up to youtu...

Re: (MY BCATRR) Fairy Wood Light Railway (FWLR)
Thanks Tom, my partner Anne did this, that’s why my layout will now be called FWLR (Fairy Wood Light Railway), she has the CEO given permission to build the layout although in a limited area, until maybe i can apply for planning permission to extend, but hey, allowed to build in the 1st place is a s...

Re: Recent Stuff on the FBGR
I have a FB account and yes it does have loads of rubbish on it, but you can block it, and since getting interested in garden railways i now have more groups to look at on garden railways and the rubbish seems to stop coming. It seems the more you like and read certain groups i.e. Garden Railways Gr...

Re: Otto bash
Thanks Rik for you’r reply, i will certainly look at your blogs when i have time, at the moment i am waiting for the weather to clear up a bit so i can get on with the paving. Then it’s full steam ahead (PUN) with the garden layout start next week.
