I think the relationship between chimney and cab height is spot on, but a lot depends on the scale in the back of your mind. Could there be a timber floor in the cab not visible from outside, that would raise drivers eye view?? I matched the cab height to the chimney, but besides the driver not bei...

40psi
In your photos the end of the whistle does look as if it maybe in contact with the rear buffer beam, just a thought.
No, it's close but it's not touching.

A Kab for a Konrad

I have somewhat suddenly bought a Konrad . Its slow running is as delightful as I hoped (gears and flywheels FTW) but I plan to give it a cab with spectacles and side doors, to anglicise (or cymrify) it a little bit. This will be my first modelling effort in brass, but I will be calling on the help ...

That sounds excellent pandsrowe. I guess that's also higher pressure (60psi?) than my Millie, and a good clean sound it makes. I didn't manage to find the time to steam up and do some testing over the weekend, but I did get a couple of shots of the whistle mouth ./myff/2032622/P1210358.jpg ./myff/20...

Is the pipe run particularly long or have any kinks in it which would cause a large pressure drop? I don't think so. It's the length supplied by Regner - the sharpest bends are shown in the photograph, it then snakes through the side tank to the whistle. What pressure are you running at? I've no pr...

How did I miss the flying pig? Hope it doesn't only come out at Christmas, I don't know if I can wait that long!

Spotted myself taking a photo, too :)

From the picture it looks like the long bolt is exactly in front of the whistle's mouth. It shouldn't have any other objects very close to it, or it could affect the sound. Thanks. I think what I will try, when I get a chance to steam up, is removing the bracket altogether and angling the whistle d...

Nice job, your obviously completely hooked now Simon.  Have often wondered why Roundhouse don't provide a manifold as an accessory, perhaps too much leverage on the banjo bolt! All sorts of reasons for an extra steam line or two though. Grant. I am, Grant! The new piece feels very solid, but on the...

A somewhat overdue update on my Millie’s whistle: I bought a Regner whistle. To recap the two problems: the whistle has an M5 thread; and I wanted to keep the spare outlet so I could fit a water filler valve. The solution is thanks to Mr Tony Bird, of this parish. As far as I’m concerned, Tony is an...

My solution (which may not be what you're looking for, it's not 'built in' but then it works on other fora too) is to take either a snippet of text or the link to a whole thread an put it into Evernote with a suitable tag (eg. 'coaches' or 'trackbed' or whatever). I use Evernote but you could use wh...

I really like the running boards. To my eye, they make a huge improvement to the appearance of an already very attractive looking loco!

I am non-doggy in the sense of not have a dog (spaniel or otherwise) but I wish I did so am enjoying the pictures; I guess that's another data point suggesting a positive correlation with NG! Like the keepers cottage and the roses are a lovely detail - I trust the keeper will be sufficiently green-f...

Stunning set of pics. I especially like the 8 balcony coach train snaking through the scenery, and the night photography. Beautiful modelling, top notch camera work.

Spoke to this Andrew Bell at Exeter. He says Brandbright may not be back in time for Chrismas but definitely in time for the AGM and to keep an eye on the website. Seems a nice chap!

The new owner is an Andrew Bell.  http://www.brandbright.co.uk

Wasn't Andel Models run by an Andrew Bell? Coincidence?

Edit: yes, looks like a coincidence, according to comment on FB.

Love the clock tower. It looks a little like the clock tower in my village!

The milk stage is great too... I'm just playing with some ideas for a self propelled milk wagon (i.e. a rail 'milk float') so when I finally get going on that I'll be needing something similar.

Isn't that the tide line 1/3 way up the wall? So the sand is below the tide line?
