BGRA Open Day

I had a sunny visit to the BGRA open day yesterday. Managed to run my Vincent and Stanley. Sorry no video of the Stanley as I was too busy with the R/C.

Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway

With 00 rail and copper wire use 60/40 resin cored solder. Should only need a 25 watt iron. 100 watt is far too much heat.

Re: Getting Russell Right

Regarding R/C there may be a trim switch on the regulator lever. Roundouse recommend adjusting this to compensate for the regulator not closing fully. But they do say that in the end the adjustment is not enough and the arm on the regulator shaft should be adjusted to get the regulator to fully close.

I ordered one about 3 years ago and if I hadn't cancelled the order I would be still waiting  Accucraft just push the delivery date back by 6 months twice each year.

I put some heat shrink sleeving on the controls of my Regner engines. Seems to work or

This may be a strange question considering all the superb machinery you have modelled.
??? How do you keep the Sawdust in place. I cant even keep gravel ballast from spiriting
itself away.

Great run Rik. I am always amazed with the run time I get from my battery electric locos ( no sound card though)
even with NiMh batteries, although I am a fan of li-ion.on

Re: Goings on at The Overdale Valley Light Railway

I had some friends from the local Model Railway Club round for a running session yesterday. I managed
to persuade one of them to drive the live steam R/C Locos so that I could take some video. Here is
the result.

Re: Goings on at The Overdale Valley Light Railway

Agree with Tom. R/C all day for me. :thumbright: My Decauville will run very well on manual only, with fine control over speed. The problem with them is the lack of room to install RC, hence Gralyn's tender. With practice I could get the loco to run quite slowly. It required different adjustments f...
