If you plan to invite others to steam ups some steam up sidings long enough with stock is a good idea. Also you could S the straights helps loco speed keep constant. A dead straight straight can be a pain. Keep it level as poss. This slight curving of the flexi straights need not be a lot width wise...

I sold a steamie (Roundhouse Charles) leaving the D.L.R. with just one Tom Rolt steam loco. The cash is getting eaten! Car Insurance tyres and tax. WAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Winters are tough. Mind you the old shelf railway, in the garage, is getting used and with visitors descending from Up country, the s...

Exciting! New Year new house new railway! Good luck with the move and make sure you get the priorities right.

Lay the track foundation. Lay the track. Test it. Then and only then move onto the house needs. i.e. washing machine plumbed in TV working, decorating and furniture settings etc. etc.

Peco st607 is 38inch radius which would be fine as is there 45 mm set track go for the biggest possible or in other words use the space. The total space is fine. The Edrigs fetch good money so maybe a new Ragleth £695would be a better bet, or even a loco without body £595. Add a swift sixteen body l...

Well said Ace. If you have more money the Roundhouse range starts to beckon. It's lovely to have the muse of which loco to buy. If your buying Accucraft and Roundhouse new either is going to make you smile. It has been known for an Accucraft not to work but the dealers are good in swopping it out. R...

I brought a similar loco at a show. I named it "the wise family investment." It took me a whole 24hrs of sweating to get it to run with the missus casting a disapproving eye all the while. When I fixed it, it was not in the same league as to Roundhouse/ accucraft. I was pleased to move it ...

That's when it all pays off.

I love to see kit built stock and a loved loco. The best in my mind, but I do realise others get other element of this great hobby.

Thumbs up from the Cornish quarter.

That depends on the stub axle length. Get the wheel set and axles and offer up setting the sole bare where you need it I'd say. Rest assured on the quality. Good luck.
