Re: Yr Hen Felin & Yr Orsaf Newydd
IMG_0135.jpeg After a dry start to the morning during which I managed to do a little soldering outside to fix the last 30cm or so of track into place in the oval the rain began so outdoor play was suspended. The two ends were lifted up onto legs about ten days apart, the second appearing last Thurs...

Thanks Rod,
yes, the Cliff Barker track is good VFM. I was mighty pleased to see that I had got my order in just before a price rise!

A lot of progress has been made in the last few days:- image0.jpeg the framework to support the two scenic boards is mostly finished and the front table similarly though not all of the boards are screwed down yet. High winds and frequent rain today have driven me indoors so some Cliff Barker track h...

By the end of Friday afternoon, the fence spikes having arrived at lunchtime:- IMG_0127.jpeg The spikes are 50mm square ones, though a little oversized, and the timber nominal 50mm square though actually about 45mm. Re: Yr Hen Felin & Yr Orsaf Newydd
Following visits to running days on local group members layouts, inspiration and friendly discussions/arm twisting, things are afoot to incorporate Yr Hen Felin and Yr Orsaf Newydd into a larger layout. A plan was drawn up:- IMG_0126.jpeg timber was sourced locally and fence post spikes online, the ...

Re: The Railway in the Valley of the Mill
The greenhouse is a fair distance away as far as I remember and with every yard of progress I suspect the job gets more difficult as the land rises and there is more need for digging out and I guess retaining wall might feature. Good to see you posting again Trevor, there seems to have been a hiatus...

As suggested by Trevor earlier the balcony coach had a run behind Trefor the Tram at the Swansea Model Engineering Society track this afternoon.
A good day out was had by all. Many thanks to all the members there who made us so welcome,

Yes, gilding cream can be used for picture frame restoration etc. It is available in different colours. I first got some when I played with wood turning where it can be used to accent grain etc.

Re: Yr Hen Felin & Yr Orsaf Newydd
3D printed door handles arrived from Jerry Irwin yesterday, each is in two parts, the T handle itself and the collar is separate. I used gold gilding cream to colour them. I had to shorten the stub of one of each back to back pair to allow them both to fit snuggly either side of the coach wall then ...

The kit is laser cut plywood, lots of parts, some very small, and includes Binnie wheels, axles boxes and couplings and clear plastic glazing. There are several jigs included and I made u...
