Two blondes driving down the road, suddenly the one driving screeches to halt, "Look at that!" she splutters, pointing out of the window at another blonde sitting in a boat in the middle of a ploughed field, rowing furiously but getting nowhere. "It's women like that that give us a bl...

Fantastic, thanks.
What size are the crossbars on the window? They look very fragile, how thin do you think you can go?

Thanks for that. I look forward to the pictures.
I did try some making some silicone moulds once, about 35 years ago, without much success and have been reluctant to try again, but I think I must bite the bullet. :)

Bazzer,
They look superb, what did you use for the actual mould itself?

.... I have just measured up a combination of Lydney junction and Oakle Street stations on the old Severn and Wye and it scales out at 32 inches.. Doesn't surprise me. Quite by chance I've just spent this morning drawing up an old village post office and village stores, to act as part of  the rear ...

If IP and Binnie wheels are doing the same thing, but other wheel sets aren't I'd check back-to-backs.
If the axles aren't parallel that could do it as well.

Personally, I've never heard of this brand, so can't speak about the actual product. However, in principle, Firstly  the rail heads should all all be level, so if the nose is proud there is something wrong. Secondly, the rails should always support the tyre of the wheel so if there is  major droppin...

Nice little loco, but from the 'cheap model with wide appeal' point of view, a couple of things spring to mind: 1) There are an awful lot of 'bits' attached to the basic body shell and every 'bit' adds complexity and hence cost. 2) You'll need to do something non-prototypical about the buffer beams/...

Looks really good and relatively quick and simple to produce an excellent result. What do you two do, to have such easy access to a suitable laser cutter?
I've got full blown AutoCAD which I use routinely, but no laser unfortunately!

Re: Shapeways

Came across a website last night called "Shapeways" on which are listed some rather nice, 3d printed VR narrow gauge kits, has anyone had any experience of said website or indeed these kits? http://www.shapeways.com/shops/shapeways.com/shops/Jeevi?section=G+Scale+Models&s=0 They look ...

Next time paint the whole sheet, then cut the slates!!! Just a suggestion. Agreed. Just apply splodges of varying shades of grey at random on the sheet, then use a brush to move the paint around until its all covered and looks a right manky mess. Then cut the slates and mix them up before laying. T...

Andrew, thanks for that, very useful. It clarifies a lot of things I was kind of aware of in an unstructured way, and added detail that I wasnt aware of but makes perfect sense when thought about.

Hi Michael,
I found this thread on another forum which has some photos and further links. It looks as though they didnt have much more than a simple iron roof on an iron frame.
