Bit of thread drift for a moment. I have just downloaded Rik's program and will be evaluating (having a play) it. All part of the grand plan for the stage 6 enlargement of the layout. On another note I asked an electrical engineering student if he could mentor in learning Python and his reply "...

Re: Solder
You can walk into your nearest Jaycar and buy tin/lead electronics solder under their Duratech label, although they also waste shelf space on the other crap. It comes in various size packs, but the catalog no. for the 200g pack of 1.0mm size is NS3010. As it happens, it's cheaper than the lead free...

Re: Print nozzle driving into the print bed
I use 195 / 50 on one printer and 200 / 55 on the other, same filament as you guys. I did a heat test build and was very surprised what was actually came back as best. I would suggest doing one of these with all new filament brands. Do you use Octoprint? If so check that the hot end line isn't wobb...

so I have new lead on a better supplier. I've been using " eSun PLA+ " for the last few months and have no problems at all with that. Currently on my 5th reel in 4 different colours. I get it from Amazon here but I'm sure it must be available in Oz. eSun PLA+ is definitely available down ...

Maeasuring part roll of filament
I have numerous part roll of filament and am trying to figure how much is left on each roll. Re: Wallingford Industrial Railway Ltd - 4 January 2024 - Inside storage shed
Can't really remember how high the floor is but I'd think no more than a couple of inches. On the subect of pointwork, this is crying out to use a system we had in the fiddle yard of a 00 exhibition layout about 40-odd years ago! The 5 FY sidings themselves were straight and parallel but curved inw...

Hi Graeme I made a short video on the shed - if you need more info, feel free to ask.. https://youtu.be/oqRyE6_wQ_A When I was talking about the shed this is what I was referr...

Using Repetier-Host
After seeing a post by philipy where he mentioned Repetier-Host in https://gardenrails.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=13151&start=20 (Nov 13 2023) I became curious about what it was. I had a quick read of the blurb on the Repetier website about Repetier-Host and it looks like it is all an si...
