The station platform is multi-purpose!

Thanks for the positive comments! I didn't manage any decent still photos of the Mamod really (and the fire was out and steam exhausted by the time I took the one above, not that taking pictures was the aim of the exercise) and I do feel a bit in awe of the achievements of some who post here... But ...

And we have managed some running, including steam and the smell of burning meths! OK, it's not the most accomplished bit of railway modelling (or indeed photography) ever, but it happened and it was good. New Binnie skips in action too, and a trial of a new location for the signalbox. IMG_20200525_1...

And the standard black version has now made it on to the Mamod website.

Never even occurred to me!

16mm scale pricing has gone bonkers over the last couple of years, it will be the death of the scale once all the wallet modellers pass on. I don't think we need worry about the scale as a whole - the economics of supply and demand will regulate things OK - but I guess some elements may temporarily...

John Sutton is offering a red* version - and as far as I can see he's beaten Mamod to getting pictures on to a website.
*Well, it's described as maroon but the photos make the bodywork look much the same as the bufferbeams to me (could be the photo light conditions or my eyesight, though!).

Did you continue to fettle your Mamod? Confession time: not yet. To be honest I've barely done anything with the garden railway in the last year and more.
